We were in the Overland Park,Ks Courtyard by Marriott this past weekend for a dinner theater and wedding. We were not satisfied with several issues. Why isn’t there a complimentary breakfast? For the rates they charge this hotel chain could at least give you a small breakfast and coffee. There wasn’t even free coffee in the lobby or cold water like many nice hotels provide. We went to the swimming pool and found no hot tub. That was disappointing as we like to relax after a long drive and we found the swimming pool needed cleaning badly. The clock in the pool area was rusty and the vents above the pool were bent and had a ball embedded in one of the vents. I found a bug on the heating and air-conditioning unit and picked it up and threw it in the toilet. I mentioned it to the clerk at the desk and he wanted to know if we wanted the room sprayed. Who wants to stay in a room with the smell of bug spray? I found no other bugs during our stay but all I could think about when I went to bed what was crawling around in the dark. When I received the bill at check out I noticed that we were charged $7.00 a day for parking in their parking lot. That is beyond belief! Where else is the guest of the hotel going to park but in their parking lot? I didn’t see any security guards walking the grounds to make sure that our car was safe from theft. Perhaps the business traveler who doesn’t personally pay his bill but the company he works for does would not care about this added expense but the guest who is traveling for pleasure does. Shame on Marriott for these added charges. We won’t be staying at a Marriott related chain in the future.

COURTYARD MARRIOTT IN MCDONOUGH GA. We had a soccer tournament this past weekend and when i booked the rooms under the government rate I was specifically told that my husband had to be present at check in to get the military rate. I️ called again a day before checking in to ask if my husband could fax in his Military ID because he wasn’t going to be able to make it due to being Veterans Day weekend and he had to attend a hockey appreciation game being held in their honor and they said NO per company policy. So my husband drove an hour and forty-five to check us in and an hour forty-five back home. Another parent was under the same situation I️ was in and she called the day of checking in before she left her house and they told her that her husband could fax in his military ID and that he didn’t have to drive the hour-forty five minuets. Naturally I️ was very upset and Ian the manager was very unsympathetic towards the situation and quickly said he was the one that authorized the other family to fax in their ID he didn’t offer any compensation for the inconvenience and I️ called customer customer care and they too were very unsympathetic and not willing to do anything about it even though the manager Ian was at fault I was left under the impression by both Ian the manager and customer care that it was my fault for not asking to speak to a manager. We were also given complimentary breakfast tickets again their mistake and when I️ got my bill I was charged for the breakfast and was told that I️ didn’t fall under the free breakfast rate I️ never asked for the tickets they were given to me as well as the rest of our Party. Needless to say this by far had been the worst experience ever especially dealing with their customer care service and hotel Management.

Booked a high room King suite with a view, paid full price, yet Marriot Courtyard Chatanooga unable to fill this simple request. Upon arrival told no high king suites available for either the day of check in or the day after. Instead to celebrate with my husband a milestone, was given a 2nd floor room looking directly into an office building. I got on the elevator and found Unoccupied King Suiites high floors with views being cleaned.. Decided to try again for what I had originally requested, and again told no available high suite floors with views, even though I rode elevator with a man who checked in after me and was given a high floor King suite.. Honesty should be at the forefront of customer service. I did not appreciate Marriot not even able to provide a simple request booked in advance and will avoid the Marriot chain in all future reservations.
