I opted to fly with Ethiopian Airline over a slightly cheaper Turkish Airlines price. On my return flight to the states my flight was changed which was not a problem. But my luggage never made it to the new location. I was told prior to leaving Ethiopia a message would be sent to baggage service to update the new location. I made a claim with the partner airlines (united Airlines) on arrival to my destination. Apparently the partner never submitted the claim to Ethiopian Airlines as the file claim number can not be found in by representatives at Ethiopian Airlines. I have been given several numbers to call that have either not been answered, shuffled me to another number, or have no idea what to do.

This is the worst airline on the face of this planet earth anyone would fly.I flew with Ethiopia airline on the 14th of Aug 2018 from Newark to Lagos, we got to Lagos and our baggage were not delivered, I did’t have any clothing and I was in Nigeria for my sister’s wedding. I only got my bags on the third of arriving in Lagos, had to keep checking the airports daily for my luggage, there was little or no explanation from the ground staff of the airline. When I eventually got my bags on the third day, it was damaged and most of my personal items had been stolen.

    Dear All,

I wouldn’t know if this is the best department to send this to, but I need to write this to solicit for your support as I am stranded here in New Delhi (India) due to the issue that happened on 2nd October 2018.

I was to go back to Lagos (Nigeria) and getting to the airport, I was told that i need to pay for the excess bag i had, to which I never argued about, but trouble started when i was unable to pay cash but only have my Mastercard (Debit Card) with me, your staff at the counter told me that they can only accept credit card or cash, one of them tried to assist with the card but the system could not do this, after this, one of your staff asked me to try some places in the airport which all proved abortive (meanwhile, as at this time, i have put a call to my brother in Delhi to assist in getting the cash from any of his church members while i transfer same in Naira denominated to the person’s account) to which he was able to do.

Your staff said they gave me just 30minutes to get this done but when i discovered that the time was going, i told one of them to allow me leave with my actual luggages while the extra one will be given to my brother when he arrive (As he said he had just 5minutes to get to the airport) to my greatest surprised, the guy refused with an excuse that who will be picking up the luggage and all my pleads to enbale me leave with my actual luggae fell on deaf ears. After some minutes (The staff were still there) my brother show up at the airport and i told your staff, who asked me to go and get it but that they have closed counter, i went to collect the cash but getting back to the counter, they have both left, leaving me to my own fate!

I immediately went to the information desk (This kind of occurrence has never happened to me before!) and when the person there check the time,he gave me the assurance that an ET staff will come down to assist as there was still time, this was around 1.40am, but no one showed up! I waited for some hours before one of your staff could come down to meet me and i explained all that happened to him, he apologized and told me that they have to rebook me (AS i dont want to leave the airport at all), after his assurance that all will be well and that I will be re-booked without any payment, he assisted me with my luggage to exit from the airport.

To my greatest surprise, i was asked to pay again for the re-booking and i told the madam there what transpired at the airport, she said they need to confirm and then get back to me.

Do I need to state here that I have been loyal to your airline since 2003 (Records are there) that i was even given a free ticket some years ago to Dubai (Only paid the taxes) and my 2 children are also members of your shebamiles, it would not have pained me so much if i have for once fly another airlines but all my life and loyalty has been to ET. Even when all my extended family have an occasion outside my home country, everyone fly another airline EXCEPT ME, that shows only one thing——-LOYALTY.

Please, as it is now, the incident (Stress) of that day made me to have Asthma Crisis which i couldnt remember the last time i had it, and have to be treating myself with the little money on me,

I am using this medium to appeal to you to assist me in getting a rebook as i don’t have any money on me again, and I wouldn’t want my VISA to expire; also, my children needed me in Nigeria as my little girl who is also Asthmatic is not feeling too well now,

I beg of you to help me out.

My bag was lost on the 29 August 2018 while flying from Cape Town to Riyadh. I registered a lost luggage claim at Riyadh Airport. As yet I have had no response from the airlines despite sending multiple emails. I also tried phoning the offices at Riyadh as well as Cape Town airports. Their lines are either busy or just rings. This is extremely frustrating and infuriating. Terrible terrible service and I would advise anyone contemplating using this airlines to avoid them.

Save your money! Don’t get stranded!
    Do NOT use Ethiopian Airlines!!!

I was very excited to fly on an African Airliner for my recent trip to Nigeria. I ended up missing my flight however, and the Ethiopian Airlines did nothing to help, and I was stuck in Lagos for an extra day as a result.

I pretty much had to buy a whole new ticket, and when I tried to complete the booking, EA was unable to process the payment in Canada, and sent me to the counter at the Airport in Lagos!!!

Of course, when I got to the airport in Lagos, the Nigerian booking agent tried to rip me off by inflating the ticket price by over $1000! My booking reference number was useless as the agent was using an unknown method to calculate the price and said that EA had left the old dates on my ticket. I walked away and decided to handle the booking over the phone.

My parents in Canada called EA only to be left on hold for hours and then told to send an email. They had to drive to the office in order to pay and complete my booking so I could travel home the next day. If I was not in a rush to come back, I would have used an entirely different airline.
Do not make the mistake of using this airline because they will leave you in a bind if anything happens.

I am still waiting to receive feedback on a lost bag from Ethiopian Airlines. Claim was filed in Addis Ababa on Saturday morning September 1, 2018.
They did not even enter my contact number correctly. Basically their staff are uneducated idiots who lack customer service training.
I am taking the matter to the FAA and hope to have all the complaints logged and have their license to operate in the USA revoked.

I was travelling from Maputo, Mozambique to New Delhi, India via Addis Ababa on 4th August 2018 by Ethiopian Airlines Flight numbers – ET818/ET686 (Airline PNR – PLYWVC). Web check-in was done for the entire route and confirmed boarding pass was with me.

On 4th August , the flight to Addis departed late from Maputo by approximately 3 hours and was reached Addis Ababa at 11.10 PM instead of its scheduled arrival time of 8.45 PM. I rushed to the Ethiopian Airlines helpdesk located at the first level, wishing to board the New Delhi flight, but the responsible person present there informed that the flight has departed and handed me a pre printed boarding pass for next day’s flight (ET 688) and hotel booking (Churchill Hotel) and told me that I can be accommodated only in the next day’s flight (ET 688), even after repeated requests.

I had to be in Delhi on 5th August as I had to apply for a visa in Chinese Embassy . Even after showing all the proofs for the visa, my confirmed onward air tickets (Delhi to Guangzhou, Shanghai to Maputo), the Ethiopian Airlines representative did not budge telling that the flight has departed and there are no more flights. At that point of time, I had no other option but to believe him.

Later in the night, I checked on the internet about the time of departure of the flight ET 686 and was surprised to find that the flight had departed on 5th August 2018 at around 00.10 AM (Proof attached – Screenshots of departure time from different flight tracker). Scheduled departure time of flight ET 686 is 22.55 PM on 4th August 2018. This means that there was sufficient time (about 1 hour) to connect to the Delhi flight, if Ethiopian Airlines actually wanted to.

On 5th August, after checking out of the hotel at 12 noon, I came to the airport and went to the Customer Care office and told the person the entire incident. He also agreed that the airlines should have transferred me to the Delhi flight.

    1. Delay in Maputo- Addis Ababa flight by approximately 2.5 hours
    2. I was not allowed to board the Delhi flight even after holding a confirmed boarding pass on 4th August. The Delhi flight departed approximately after 1 hour of the actual time of arrival of the flight from Maputo.
    3. I reached Delhi after about 17 hours late from my earlier scheduled arrival time of 8.10 AM on 5th August. I arrived on 6th August at 1.10 AM.
    4. One of my checkin baggage (Baggage tag number – ET594528) did not arrive to Delhi on 5th August and was later handed over to me on 6th August.
    5. The baggage was tampered with (Evidence attached—The spray cap of the spray bottle was missing and probably something else also might be missing as it is hard to remember the contents)
    6. The hotel, Churchill Hotel, at Addis Ababa was extremely bad (No food as per my taste as I do not eat beef, washroom was leaking, bed linen was not clean, towels were not clean, lunch was not provided)
    7. The person at the transfer point at Addis Ababa airport on 4th August (at around 11 PM) was not at all courteous. He first told me that he can accommodate me in some other Star Alliance partner airlines, which was a lie, which he was telling. When I asked him, how long I have to wait, he said that he has no idea and the waiting period can be of more than 2 hours also. This was the statement which he gave around 11.30 PM.

I’m writing this to vent out my displeasure in regards to your service and unfair treatment. I was to depart from Dubai today at 4:25am for Addis to connect to Abuja (Nigeria) at 9:30. Firstly I was asked to join the 5:40am which I complained I would not make it in time for my connection. I explained to them I had a meeting in Abuja for Friday morning that I had to be there for. Secondly, the flight was delayed until 7:30am with little apologies for delay, no one wanted to answer questions in regards to our connection. We got to Addis at 11, of course our connecting flight was long gone, we were then given accommodation voucher to go to hotels, Even if it’s economy class we still deserve better places. We were taken to the worst hotel that was freezing with no form of heat, had dirty sheets and had to keep transferring rooms cos of issues with the door, terrible food and area that was not safe. We had no clothes as we were not allowed to take out luggages after all we went through. The Ethiopian air staff very not polite as well.
I had to check out of the hotel I was given to go and pay for a hotel else where, buy toiletries and change of clothes. I spent money that I did not want to and did not necessarily have. I am missing a very important meeting. It’s been the worst ever experience because this is my first time ever using your airline.

I originally bought 3 tickets on 25 Oct 2017 to travel from Johannesburg to Frankfurt but due to personal matters had to make changes to the booking in May 2018. I could not do this online but had to contact Ethiopian Airlines offices to do on my behalf. This was a huge problem getting hold of them on their telephone lines, phones unanswered and I spent endless time on the lines trying to get hold of them. What an inconvenience. I dealt with the Johannesburg office and called them over a period of 3 days Monday 28 May to Wednesday 30 May 2018 to find out different prices and options that we could take. We were travelling with other people and had to liase with them regarding the changes we wanted to make hence I could not do it immediately and had to call in over the 3 days to make further enquiries.
I got a price from the Johannesburg office on Tuesday 29 May 2018 to change our existing ticket to 24 JUN-5 JUL2018 Johannesburg-Paris De Gaulle, France of R5240.00per ticket. I called back the next day Wednesday 30 May 2018 to effect these changes on my tickets and the price had jumped to R8260 per ticket. I was shocked and confused about this and asked for an explanation but was treated very rudely by the staff member and told that “You dont know what you want, you have been phoning into our offices for the past days, wasting our time. You dont know what you want to do” . This staff member then proceeded to ignore me on the other end of the line while I was talking to her and said to her colleagues ” this woman is crazy, she is so confused, doesnt know what she wants and is shouting at me”. She kept on not respond to me talking to her on the line and put the phone down on me. When I called back another colleague answered the phone and said that the phone was never put down in my ear, the staff member had just refused to speak to me…………
Is this client service and how a client customer centre treats its paying customer. I urge you to get a recording of the conversation between me and the staff member in your investigations. .Believe me if I could have done the changes and queries myself I would have but according to their rules because the booking was done by myself, only they could make the changes.
On the following day my son called into their offices to finalise the changes and get the new tickets issued. We had no choice but to accept the R8260 per ticket now that had to be paid.
Please can I have a breakdown of the final price that I paid for the new ticket as it looks to me that I was never credited at all for the original booked ticket that I had purchased in the beginning and also an explanation of why the price had jumped so overnight. I ended up paying more in to have the changes made then what I originally paid for the tickets. Is this possible?
I feel that I was treated unfairly and demand an apology and explanation of how the costs were calculated. It is not properly specified on my ticket.

    1. I was traveling from Entebbe to Kanpur on 24/25 Jul Via Ethopian flight ET 335/ ET 686 & SG 8745. The flight ET 335 was delayed from Entebbe due to which the we we’re denied to board ET 686. After much heated discussion and persusaion with your In line office staff they modified tickets and issued the boarding pass for ET686 to Delhi for 25 Jul which is after 24 hours. Also regarding the further connecting flight SG8745 was missed due to negligence and unprofessional attitude of Ethopian airlines staff at Addis Ababa.

It was very easy for them to arrange a tarmac transfer for is directly from the plane to another one which could have saved the wastage of 24 hrs. We went to the boarding gate but the Ethiopian airlines individual denied boarding saying the doors are closed, however infront of us just few minutes before we saw the bus leaving with last set of passengers.

    2. Easily we would have been able to catch the flight but couldn’t because of iresponsive behavior of the staff. Whereas at Entebbe the Ethopian airlines staff promised that the connecting flight from Addis Ababa will wait because it is from the airline carrier.

    3. Now we are stuck in Addis Ababa with no help and frustrating staff who are not ready to help.

    4. I am sure Ethiopian airlines has responsibility to take care of there passengers. I am sincerely waiting for your response.

This is the email I sent to Ethiopian airlines about our experience.

We booked a return flight from Johannesburg to Nairobi via Addis Adaba. I have attached screen shots of the flight booking.

Firstly when we arrived at Addis Adaba there was a short delay maybe an hour or 2 however we were held in a boarding gate past security without any drinking water available the tanks were empty. When we finally boarded the plane I had to ask 5 times for water for my dehydrated children.

Also I had preselected our seats and when we arrived at Addis Adaba I was told we could not sit in these seats as we were in an exit row with children. That’s ok I understand that but the seats on the full plane we were given meant that my 7 year old child was separated and he was not seated near either parent. I explained this was unacceptable and I was told that when we boarded we would have to ask other passengers to swap seats. Which luckily they swapped however no help was given from your airline. I also noticed our original preselected seats were not even in an exit row.

When we arrived in Nairobi 2 of our bags did not show up. After spending 1 hour filling in the report we finally left without 2 bags that included my wife and daughters clothes and also our malaria medication and toiletries.

We were due to go on safari early the next morning. We obviously had to pay for these things from a street stall on a Sunday as that was all that was open.

When our bags were finally located 2 days later the owner of our safari company kindly collected the baggage for us and hand delivered the bags 200 kms away in the national parks. Both these bags were damaged beyond repair. Photos and report attached

When we arrived back at Nairobi airport I spoke to the manager who told me there was nothing she could do about it and to speak to somebody at Johannesburg.

On the plane flight home on the Addis Adaba to Johannesburg leg a movie was played on the public tvs that was highly unsuitable for my 5 and 7 year old children it was called Maze Runner Death Cure. It had graffic violence and sex scenes throughout.

When we arrived in Johannesburg we spoke to somebody about our bags being lost and damaged he gave me a piece of paper and took my details.

I gave him our friends cell phone number as we were staying with them in Johannesburg for a week before we flew home to Australia.
He assured us somebody would be in contact. Nobody contacted us. We were given an email and I have sent numerous emails to this person and have had one generic email back with no real information.

I have sent 5 emails numerous Facebook messages and I still have not gotten anywhere.

Could you please help out and respond to this email.

I have attached as much information to this email as I could.

    Kind Regards,
    Stephen Hansen.

    Good day,
I have spent the past 3 days trying to contact Ethiopian airlines but have failed to do so. I have phoned numerous numbers, from the customer service line, ticketing offices based in Cape Town and Johannesburg and also the Ethiopian Airlines manager and reservations desk at Cape Town and Johannesburg International Airport. The phone line is either engaged, no-one answers or a consultant answers and then the line goes dead. I waited for 20 minutes waiting for a consultant to answer from the 0800 customer service number and after this time, they said “all consultants are busy at the moment, please call later” and the call ended. Their lack of communication with the public is completely unacceptable. It has been extremely frustrating, as my client needs to cancel is flight departing tomorrow (13 July).
CPT – ROME – ticket ref. PEQVYH – Alessandro Gigli.
I understand there will be $150 cancellation charge and a refund of $250.
I will be taking this further. Can anyone assist?
    Many thanks and kind regards

Worst airline in the world, I will never fly with Ethiopian airlines ever. The flight attendants are rude and bitter, complain about anything they just brush you off. Also the customer service sucks so if you happen to leave something on the plane by accident like dont expect to get it back, they will just tell you they haven’t found anything yet and leave you standing around for hours, even tho I’m in transit and my next flight was in 3 hours , I ended up just leaving it and didnt think it was worth the time and just caught my next flight . same thing happened to another passenger off another flight his children had left a iPad on board and they kept telling him the same thing and his next flight was in an hour, the best airline in Africa you wish it’s worse then Zimbabwean airlines and they dont even run anymore

I cannot fault the business class service and the attention of the manager at the. checkin desk in Dubai but your plus grade service is far away from good service
I wanted only to be upgraded on my return flights from Kilimanjaro via Addis Ababa to Dubai on 11th July but they upgraded us on our journey to Kilimanjaro
I emailed twice asking them to stop the upgrade and my emails have just been ignored and my account debited
I was advised to fly business by your check in manager just in case the money was not refunded and I would end up paying for nothing
I’m really dissatisfied and disappointed with Ethiopian Airlines although I could not fault the business class service
What can you do for me on the return flight

Hopefully after this trip I never have to fly Ethiopian Airlines again or set foot at Addis Ababa Bole airport again.
Our boarding pass stated that we will depart from Bole to Bangkok at 23:55. After waiting at gate 2B, for 30 min, with officials shouting at each other, and passengers departing to destinations not even on the announcement board at the gate, we were told that the flight was delayed by 1 hour. After 10 minutes another staff member informed us that we must go to gates 6 and 7. We waited for 45 min, with no staff member or official present at gates 6 and 7. Then, 5 minutes before we were due to depart, and still no staff member present, the announcement board showed that our flight is departing at gate 8.
We started moving to gate 8, and the only person behind the desk at gate 8, did not know that the flight was now supposed to depart from there.
He left, without an explanation. 4 minutes after the flight was supposed to depart, the board flashed that the flight has departed, although all the passengers were still standing there.
I found the staff at Bole very unfriendly, unprofessional and unable to communicate in proper English. The announcements were also very unclear, and again in a very bad English, which could not be understood.

    Dear Ethiopian Airlines,

I am Amusa Ganiyu Adeniyi a customer of Ethiopian Airlines with shebamiles number 00074439551.
I had a booking with ref number HGYNNF to fly from Abuja to Goa, India on 16th of June 2018 and to return 29th of June, 2018. Both legs of the journey was to last 2 days each. I had a program on June 17 so was OK with the booking.
The flight from Abuja was scheduled for around 1;30 pm Nigerian time. I got to the airport well ahead of this, we were told of the flight delay but not the reason for it.
I asked at the Counter when obtaining my Ethiopian boarding pass whether I can get that (ticket or boarding pass) of my Indian Air (a member of Star Alliance) flight from Mumbai to Goa printed. I was told no. On examining my Ethiopian boarding passes, i realized that my flight from Addis to Mumbai was now on 6.30pm Ethiopian time on the 17th as against the earlier time of around 11:30pm on the 16th due to the flight delay of the Abuja to Addis leg. I asked again at the counter whether the Indian leg of my journey from Mumbai to Goa had been sorted out, the Indian flight was supposed to be on the 17th but since i am now leaving Addis on the 17th, it now means the Indian leg will now be on the 18th and I was worried at not been able to attend my program evening of 17th and also whether the Indian Air end has been sorted out. I was told to ask at the Counter in Addis for a print out to allay my fears.
The printout in Addis did not allay my fears as the Indian Air end was still for the 17th while 2 new additions have been added for the Ethiopian air end with Addis to Mumbai flight now on the 18th. I again asked at the Counter the implication of this, I was told not to worry that the Ethiopian Air staff in Mumbai will sort this out.
On arrival in Mumbai on the 18th, I asked again and again for the Ethiopian Air office with nobody seeming to know where they are located. I roamed about for over about an hour asking questions until a Security staff directed me to the Indian Air office in the Mumbai airport. I showed the staffs my flight itenary and explained we arrived about an hour ago (around 2;30 am Mumbai time) due to the delay in flight form Abuja to Addis and Addis to Mumbai. The Indian air staff, a woman told me immediately that I had to pay for a new ticket as my Indian air ticket was for 17th not 18th. I explained again that the Ethiopian Airline delayed my flights from Abuja to Addis and Addis to Mumbai hence the delay. The staff was very rude and unhelpful, when other staff intervened, she did a printout of my itenary which showed clearly that Ethiopian Airways adjusted their own end of the flights and not the Indian Air end that it was not her responsibility to do so. I pleaded with her to no avail, i again asked for the Ethiopian Airways office and was rudely told to go out and keep looking for it. I was eventually told Ethiopian Airways does not have an office or a rep in the Mumbai airport. The staff still insisted that the only way out was for me to do a new booking and pay for another flight from Mumbai to Goa, I had no choice so had to pay the equivalent of 42 US dollars (2732 indian ruppees) for another booking/ticket.
Do kindly note that i had fully paid for the return trip from Abuja to Goa, but due to negligence on the part of Ethiopian Airways staff who did not rebook the Indian Air flight from Mumbai to Goa, the Indian Air staff made me pay again for the trip due to no fault of mine.
Please find attached all necessary document, you can confirm all of these by checking my flight itenary on the Ethiopian Airways site.
I must say at this point that I am utterly dissapointed and that I hope something will be done to rectify this great injustice.
I hope you will do the right thing, take action while I await a response from you.

    My Booking confirmation number JAAJXY

My name is Rama Singh. My husband reserved my ticket from Delhi to Abidjan in Economy having both seat 17A. I am BP patient and I get swelling on my legs if I sit longer on chair. I was lucky that he got an business upgrade offer. He bid for that he got that offer. He paid all necessary charges and at last I got Business class from Delhi to ADD and ADD to Abj.

While reaching at Ethiopian Airlines business Counter at Delhi Airport for boarding passes, t they told me that we don’t have business class and you have to travel by economy class, we will refund your money. Ask this stupid guy if money matters then why i should fly I should go by ship or by camel.

They also changed my window seat. I was very upset but I was helpless.. Now my complaint is that how you can give my business class seat to someone who knows you or paid extra money to you. I am lady and I can not even fight with that stupid Manager at Airport Delhi. If you reimburse even million dollar then also you can not pay the sufferings which I faced.

I want you to suspend all Delhi for least 2 weeks with penalty of 100 USD. Also suspend that Manager least for 3 Weeks with penalty of 305 USD with unsatisfactory assessment. You may not suspend all at one time but you can do one by one.

Me and my family has determined not to fly with Ethiopian Airlines but we can change our mind if you impose same punishment as I mentioned acknowledge me back with evidences .

    Thanks

I bought a ticket on line to travel to Harare. This ticket was purchased on 9March 2018 for travel on 03 April 2018. I entered all the information including my bank details and I received a ticket reservation code IJVBEE. I purchased the ticket while in Australia where I reside using a UK bank account number. I travelled to the UK and then caught Ethiopian Airlines to Harare. The purpose of my journey was to attend a wedding as the maid of honour. I had travelled from Australia for this reason. I arrived at Heathrow and tried to self-check in but I failed to do so. I then proceeded to reservations where I was informed I had a booking but had not paid for the ticket. I was taken aback as I had purchased the ticket on line, something I have done a million times and had never heard of such an explanation. I then asked the member of staff to please take the money from my bank account as it was an error. Staff member stated there was no ticket available with that fare price and I had to purchase a full fare ticket. I was so shocked and stressed as I had people waiting for me to attend the wedding. I was asked why I didn’t check my account if the money had been taken from my account. I didn’t routinely check my UK bank account and I was confident I had a ticket purchased as I had an itinerary of my journey so to me it was a done deal. I was requested to pay almost £1400 for an economy return ticket to Harare. I even asked if I could be upgraded as it was so much money compared to what I would have originally paid, £607. I felt pressured as the flight was about to leave and was informed the flights were full and would struggle to get a flight the following day. I paid the money due to the reasons stated above but made it clear I would write a formal complaint and if I don’t get a refund of what I paid I would refer case to the Civil Aviation Authority for a review. I feel this was unfair and unheard of. My experience on Ethiopia airline was negative and I felt cheated financially.

    Good day
I flew in Ethiopian Airways from Harare to London, leaving Harare on Friday 11th May 2018 and arriving in London on 12th May 2018 at 07:10.
The first leg of my flight from Harare to Addis Ababa was ok and very pleasant. My problem is that on the second leg of my flight from Addis Ababa to London my cellphone was stolen on the flight, as I had fallen asleep. I was sittig in 15H and there was a well spoken Ethiopian gentleman sitting next to me. I had managed to contact your office in London said they would email the airport’s office to see if a phone had been found and handed in. I was also told that they would contact me and was given a number to contact them and told they are open from 15:30 – 17:30.. I have tried calling this no on various occasions but they do not answer and nobody has contacted me to advise if my cellphone has been recovered or not. This to me is not good publicity for the airline, because if anyone has to ask me for a review on the airline I would tell them that they must be very careful as there are people that steal your cellphones while you are sleeping and nothing gets done about it. This has caused me a great inconvience and not something I expected to happen. This is the first time I have flown eithiopian airlines and I don’t think I will use it again. Cabin crew where nice and friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I have no option but to fly back on this airline as my return flight is booked through them. I shall definitely be very careful this time and more vigilant.

I travelled to Zimbabwe(Victoria Falls) from the UK on the 26th of March. My return journey was scheduled for the 6th of May 2018. I got to Victoria falls airport around 10.30hrs to be checked in but when I reached the service desk to be checked in i was told that I was not allocated a seat Initially I was not told the reason why. Upon insisting that I wanted to know the criteria used to allocate seats that is when I was told that the plane was overbooked, something I have never heard of in the aviation industry. I started panicking because I had connecting flights to reach my destination which was in this case to Manchester Airport. The airport staff in Victoria Falls did not appear to be bothered with my problem . I can tell you that this has been a nasty experience in the aviation industry since I started flying to and fro the UK 15 since 15 years ago. All along the airlines I have been using were perfect.

I chose Ethiopian airlines because of the proximity to Victoria Falls where I come from. I was then ordered by the ground staff to go to the boarding gate of which I did, but when I got there I was told to wait again. One of the ground staff went to the plane most probably to negotiate with the flight crew. My heart was already beating fast because I was not sure if I would travel. Eventually the person who had gone to the plane called me to follow him to the plane but when I got to the entrance I was told to wait again while the crew were checking if there were available seats. Eventually I was told to board the plane. I was told to seat in any available seat on the plane. I got in without a boarding pass and found a seat. The plane was flying to Addis via Gaborone in Botswana. I was only issued with a boarding pass in Botswana. It appeared as if I had flown from Botswana instead of Victoria Falls. I wanted to let you know about this issue before reporting to the International aviation Services. I also want to find out if it is allowed for a passenger to fly without obtaining a boarding pass. I do not think I will use this airline again. I will revert to Emirates which treats its passengers with dignity. My flight numbers were ET 829 from Victoria Falls
ET 710 From Addis to London Heathrow.

    Dear Sir,
We recently travelled to Ethiopia for a wedding with Ethiopian and had experience and here are some examples.
on 4/6/18 I flew from Dulles to Addis. The agent processing travelers at the gate was very slow. In flight it looked like there was an open bar and there was a lot of alcohol being drunk and a few travelers were drunk. On my return trip on 4/27/18 I came via Dublin ,was two hours late. Then the luggages of many passengers were misplaced and had to wait for about two hours at Dulles until they were found somewhere
    2. My wife, Ethiopia Tesfay, reservation code, PCFVXP, flew to Addis on 4/5/18. She tried to use her Sheba miles to travel to Mekelle but she was told she did not travel to Addis yet although she was in Addis. After one week the system did not show her travel to Addis and she had to buy a ticket to go to Mekelle although she could have used her miles to do so.
    3. My niece Alayet Tesfaye, travelled on 4/9/18 from LA to Addis, reservation code AVSYSH. She is visibly pregnant and showed the security guys in Addis a letter stating that she is pregnant and asked for a pat down. The lady at the gate and her supervisor forced her to go through the scanner knowing full well that she is pregnant and she even threatened to hit her and was restrained by some of the staff. Ethiopian later apologized after the harm was done.
Our experience with Ethiopian Airlines was really bad and dangerous.
I hope you consider to train your staff well as you expand fast. You are as good as your staff.
    Gashaw Tafari,

Today my dear friend was supposed to travel from Cape Town, SA to Washington, DC for my upcoming wedding. When she arrived at the Cape Town ticketing counter this morning, the Ethiopian airways ticketing agent refused to issue her ticket, stating that her visa was “missing information.” We then called the US Consulate who assured us the visa is accurate and up to date, however the ticketing staff refused to take this into consideration and would give no explanation as to what the issue was with her documents. They told her they would “call her” when the issue was resolved, however refused to give her any contact information for anyone with the airline to follow up on this matter and were very rude to my friend during this whole experience. I am DEEPLY disappointed and very frustrated with the lack of transparency and information.

This is the first time of me trying Ethiopian airline but the experience I had from it it totally disappointing and as I’m typing this right now I’m in Beijing airport lying on the floor due to what happened to me and my friend. Our visa was finishing tonight so we booked Ethiopian and came to Beijing airport 6 hours before our flight.. we collected our pass around 9pm … Boarding time is from 23:10 to 23:55 .. we passed all the checking bridges and got to the gate by 23:46 but guess what they told us we are late we can’t get in the plane. I dunno if to laugh or cry but being black always comes with unnecessary consequences now I’m lying on the floor with no visa waiting for Ethiopian airlines office to open because they have no office in the airport so the only place to lay your complains is when giving boarding passes …. this is so sad thanks to Ethiopian airline for making me feel unworthy about my skin color..

We paid for my niece and nephew to fly from S.A. to Dubai as unaccompanied minors. They were escorted onto the plane and then left to help themselves with a connecting flight to us in Dubai with no one to attend to them on the flight or in the airports

I need something to be done about this as thus is exactly how kids go missing and get kidnapped and lost due to the airline negligence.

I want something done about this matter as i feel the media should know about the airline and it’s negligent staff members

I had a connecting flight in London from Chicago going to Ethiopia with my bags already tagged through which in no sense they charged me again in London for the “extra bag” for 150GBP. When I received my receipt they charged my twice for that bag (75 supposedly) and I had no more chance to complain as we are about to board. Moral Lesson- Do not board too close to the time. You have better chance to be robbed. Not only that make sure you don’t overload on your carry on luggage. And I was charged twice again. It did not stop there. When I arrive at my destination, I only received 1 bag instead of 3. So i waited for 4 days before I finally got it. My 1 bag was bought brand new before this trip. when I finally got my bag, one would thought that it was being used for like 5 times already. It was so dirty and has damaged already. Very bad airline. Their airport was the worst too! I thought I was on one of the airports of a remote area. Fly at your own risk!…

I flew with Ethiopian airlines with my wife (ticket no. 071-5780379420 and 21 respectively) on 15th Jan 2017 from Mumbai to Addis Ababa and from there to Seychelles. I was surprised and very happy with the service and the accommodation they provided at Addis as we were the honeymoon couple. Up to Seychelles I had no problems. When we were returning from Seychelles after a wonderful honeymoon we boarded Ethiopian flight ET 878 at 6pm sez time. We notice before boarding that all the pilots were carrying Takamaka rum( it is a nice rum anyway) this dint ring any bell. When we boarded the plane our captain greeted us with these exact words ” hello ladies and gentleman boys and girls honeymooners and lover and all those in between thanks for flying the best airline in the world and I am not Bragging about it it is the best airline ” to sound cool with a cool language he was trying to ease off any flying jitters I found it bit unprofessional as I am used to a professional voice i thought may be its an unconventional flight so I was like ok the pilot must be trying to ease off tension. 1 hour into our flight and we started to feel turbulence little but constant then we hit a massive ice cloud and the whole plane shook hurting 3 air hostesses and numerous passengers including my wife who had bruised arm and from honeymooners we went shit scared for life we thought we might never going to see any one again it was so scary that it cannot be expressed in words. We were offered food and beverage 2 hours after boarding the flight because most of the air hostesses were injured and they have to call passengers for medical help. after half hour the cool passenger spoke saying that the radar dint pick up the ice cloud and that was invincible. we missed our connecting flight flight to Mumbai from addis and we had to wait 2 hours at airport and we were so scared boarding other flights that it ruined our honeymoon.I told them at the airport that my wife has got bruised hand and she is crying out of fear can you do anything on your part to make her feel good reply was no.So this is Ethiopian airlines the pilot was ‘ Bragging’ with his cool language and hitting an ‘invincible’ ice cloud sending everyone in shock fear.

I booked two return tickets for departure from Cape Town to Dubai. It was my first Ethiopian booking and I must say that we were hugely disappointed. The flights were delayed and we were booked into a filthy hotel where we really feared for our safety :(

I intend to report the matter still because our outbound flights were finally completed yesterday!

I recently booked a flight with Ethiopian Airlines back in November. I researched many websites and decided to go with your airline because it was the only option to travel from Africa to the USA within one day. You were also the only airline that was charging $1,800 for the ticket (almost $300 more that all other deals). I decided to book my trip to Nigeria with your airline because the flight times worked for me and would have me back on New Year’s Day in time for work on January 2nd. I was also happy about this itinerary because I would be able to celebrate the new year as well as Christmas with my family. Two weeks before my trip I received an email notifying me that the flights departing from Newark and returning flights from Lagos would be slightly altered by a few minutes. When I left on the December 22nd, I arrived to the gate to see that our flight was delayed from 9:15 until 10:35 which was reasonable considering it was the last day before the holiday school break. I asked the ticket agent about my layover in Togo and I was told that if we missed the connecting flight on the 23rd, that we would have to wait until 24th to fly from Togo to Nigeria. We ended up leaving at 11:30 andneedless to say, missed the connecting flight in Togo. When in Togo to my surprise, I was handed a boarding pass for a 3:15 flight from Lome, Togo to Lagos Nigeria. We left for Nigeria at 4:00. A few days into my trip I received the same email notification of the altered flight times. This email however, stated that I needed to respond with recognition that I received the email and to quickly respond because the flights were filling up. I was confused because I was under the impression that I paid $1,800 2 months prior for guaranteed airline tickets. Soon after I received yet, another email. The email stated that my flight on January 1st from Togo to Newark was changed and that my new itinerary was to leave at 1:30 PM from Nigeria to Ethiopia. I would arrive in Ethiopia at 9:00 PM local time and I would stay over night and leave the next morning at 8:45 AM and fly from Ethiopia to Newark and that would have me back at 7:15 PM local time on January 2nd. This obviously wasn’t ok, considering that I needed to report back to work on January 2nd. I specifically picked this itinerary because it would have me back on the 1st. My sister called on my behalf to speak to someone about the status of my itinerary. She was told that the only way I could make it back on the 1st is if I left Nigeria on December 31st with the same route: Nigeria to Ethiopia then Ethiopia to Newark. I was furious. So now I had to leave my family before New Year’s because Ethiopian Airlines couldn’t accommodate me? I wanted to be with them for the holiday so my sister told me I had to be willing to arrive home on the 2nd in order for this to happen. I decided to stay until the 1st. When I arrived at the airport in Nigeria I tried to get my original itinerary but I was told it was impossible. I was sent to Ethiopia and spent the night there. When we boarded the next morning for Newark, I couldn’t help but feel schock, when I heard that we were traveling to Newark via Lomé, Togo!!!!!! Why in the would would I be sent to northeast Africa just to be sent back to Western Africa??!!! Why wouldn’t your airline simply just rebook the self same itinerary I had originally, to January 2nd??!!!!! Obviously, there was a flight leaving from Togo to Newark. How does it make sense to have me travel a total of 38 hours instead of 12??? I’m furious with this airline. I have multiple sclerosis and it’s already compromising to my body to make such long trips. I travel with a cane and my medication and to tack on an unnecessary 26 hours of travel time???? This is an absolute outrage. I expect for your airline to answer for this unacceptable course of events. I expect to hear from you soon and hope you address this matter accordingly. Compensation of some sort is definitely in order here.
    Sincerely,
    Carmela Piraino

I forgot to mention that after boading,i enquired from a hostess why the delay and no apology? She shrugged and said there was no need for apology even when the flight was delayed for hours, that it wasnt the airlines fault but that of the airport authority in Jeddah. My Uncle who was also to return to nigeria after a week was left at Jeddah airport for 3days with no single explanation from same Ethiopian Airlines and when they finally boarded, they were taken to another country entirely and not Ethiopia which was supposed to be their transit.

I,my aged Mom,Aunt and My Husband boarded an ethiopian airline plane from Abuja Nigeria on 2nd June 2017 to Madinah via Bole Airport. After all the hassles and rudeness of thier staff,we arrived safely. We were supposed to check in at 2.45am on 20th June 2017 to return to Nigeria and were infact at Jeddah Airport early enough but the check in took ages and it was freezing. It finally took more than 5hours to check in and the flight which was to take off at 4.45am was delayed for over 6hours with no one saying anything to us. We finally boarded around noon and we were sure we had missed our flight that was supposed to leave Bole at about 9am or so for Nigeria. At boarding in Jeddah airport,we were told to leave our hand luggage, which i had never heard of before then, that it will be taken up by the loader. I was skeptical but left it though. That was the last we saw of the luggage. Mine and my Moms contained lots and lots of prescription drugs because we went for medical check up and other treatments. On getting to Addis Ababa,we missed the flight to nigeria and were taken to a hotel. Up till today,2nd December 2018,the luggage have not found and in the end,we were rudely informed that we couldnt claim compensation since they were hand luggages. EA is the worst, from attitude, responses and all. Their staff are extremely rude wherever they are. Not a single apology was tendered and they had the audacity to claim that we had no tags. I will never fly EA again.

    Dear Sir,

My name is Luis Machaieie, and in November 2014, I have travelled from Kopenhagen, in Denmark, to Maputo, Mozambique, with transfers in Frankfurt and Addis Ababa.

In the flight from Frankfurt to Addis Ababa, a felt sick, and touched to the attendance button, but it did not work because it was broken. As I got worse, I walked all the way to the back in order to get assistance from the stewards. Once I reached what I can call the kitchen of the plane, I realised nobody was there, and I could not hold myself any longer and I fainted. The stewards were sleeping on the last seats of the plane, they could hear me and the recovered me, but unfortunately I broke two of my front teeth. So I would like to claim for body injury compensation, so I can fix my teeth.

I have initially contacted the ASA, the company from which I bought the tickets, but they informed me that the operating carrier is the one responsible for compensation in case accident on board.

The details of the tickets are as follows:

I booked a flight with Ethiopian airways from Dublin to Johannesburg for December 8th 2017, to January 3rd 2018
Flight from Dublin was at 5.40pm and arrived at Heathrow airport at 7.10pm. The connecting flight to addis ababa was at 8.15pm. There was not enough time in transit between terminals but we made in time for boarding only we were not allowed to board for check in time was closed. Ethiopian airways denies responsibility saying it was British airways fault for allowing us into the flight from Dublin knowing we wouldn’t make connection time. And British airways says it was Ethiopian airways fault since I booked the ticket with them. We was stuck at the airport all night freezing.

Fraudsters!!! Ethiopian airlines allows online bookings for flights from Dammam (departs at 2:20 am) to Cape Town (arrival at 14h50 same day) via Bahrain and Addis Ababa – however as per the itinerary it is neigh impossible as per the itinerary, the flight arrives in Addis at 8am and the next flight to Cape Town departs at 8:25 am. Passengers including myself arrived in Addis at 8am and missed the connecting flight due to their bizarre itinerary and were left stranded at the airport. Staff do not communicate effectively and was offered a codeshare SAA flight via Nairobi and Johannesburg to Cape Town on the same day. Accepted the option with an estimated arrival time in Cape Town at 9:30pm the evening. All went well until we got to JHB and unbelievably the connecting time between flights were again not enough as the flight to JHB landed on scheduled time at 18:50 pm and as per the itinerary the flight booked to CPT departed at 19H30…too little time again between flights. Tried to get on the last SAA flight to CPT from JHB at 9:15 pm but was told by SAA staff that the change can only be effected by Ethiopian airline staff. Long walk to Terminal A and arrived at Ethiopian airline counter and was told supervisor only starts her shift at 9pm and no one else can authorize the change to the ticket. Obviously missed the last flight out and was offered overnight accommodation in JHB. flight out to CPT the next morning and arrived at 9am…. what a waste of my bloody time. no compensation offered for my lost time, lost revenue, business meeting that caused me to lose new clients…to top it all my luggage never arrived !!! Ethiopian airlines could not even trace it!!!!! Never Ever!! fraudsters…. they allow clients to book an impossible itinerary, take the money and then they run…no professionalism, untrained staff….crooks!!!!

    1. Ethiopian Airlines has the worst customer service ever! Long story short I never got my luggage while traveling on an 11 day, 3 country itinerary in Africa with them. I had no clothes, no shoes, toiletries, bug spray or the nutrition I packed and needed (I actually was sick upon return). When my brand new Samsonite hard case suitcase arrived to me finally back at my home 18 days after I departed the US, it was very damaged, the TSA lock was missing and it had been gone through. I put in a claim the night I landed in Africa. I then made trips to the airports, called, emailed, tweeted, direct messaged… so many times. Nothing. No one ever contacts me to update me or try and rectify the situation. At one point two weeks ago I was offered $150 by their DC office. I declined the quite frankly offensive offer and asked for a supervisor to call me. They didn’t and now all parties have stopped replying to me. I feel I must receive the compensation I deserve. It’s been 26 days since this all began with their mislabeling my luggage and I am beyond frustrated at this point!

On the 3 of June 2017, I travelled to Kenya for a week with Ethiopian Airlines by Opodo. I connected in Addis Ababa, where I recieved a very disturbing treatment. The stuff in that airport is so ignorant and rude. At first I thought it was language Barea since some struggled to speak English, I then realised they were just ignoring us intentionally. As I was supposed to wait for a connecting flight to Kenya, I was looking for the gate I should wait for boarding, it was my first time in Addis Ababa, so I had to ask. Everyone who was wearing airport uniform seemed amazed, ignorant and had no time to help. I think this airport need to hire professional stuff who are well trained in customer service plus well spoken individuals who are able to speak English as the airport connects everyone. There is office there, where boarding pass are done/paid. There are many people who seem to be working there according to the blue uniform they wearing. Those people are useless. People were shouting for help, only one person was working in his computer, the rest were walking up and down in the office. I spent more than 40 minutes there, even though there was only one person infront of me in that line

We have not had correspondence following a cancelled flight by Ethiopian airlines. TripStar had applied for a full refund and have contacted us a few times to say that Ethiopian Airlines have not responded. I have personally completed online request forms that have not been responded to. This is a disgraceful airline. Firstly cancelling a flight two days before we flew and offering a ridiculous alternative, we should have had the option for a refund at that time as well.

We are seeking legal advice for more that the cancelled flight and extra cost of the flight we were forced to book at the last minute.

Please would someone make contact with us and make an offer of compensation as per the airline regulations.

I was travelling from Johannesburg to Mumbai via addis ababa onthe 5th ofSeptember. At booking my JNB to add flight was confirmed as ET 808 and ADD to MUM flight as ET 610. despite this i was without notice off loaded from ET 610 at JNB itself and given a boarding pass for ET 640 from ADD to MUM. This offloading caused me a delay of more than 3 hrs and dire emotional and mental stress. Another fact to be mentioned is that etjiopian employs the rudest, most unhelpful of ground staff. Please save ur money, patience and self respect and travel by a better airline

What type of an airline is this that keeps losing passengers’ baggage. They don’t respond to baggage queries. Its employees keep ambushing value bags. Guess that is why most valuable baggages gets lost. I hate the service. You can contact customer relations; corporate communications but not even a response from them. I would recommend this airline to no one.

I traveled by ET from Lilongwe to Hyderabad on 29-30 August 2017 (ET 876, ET 640 & 9W 345). Inefficient, Indifferent, opportunistic and dishonest services of ET staff have caused immense physical and emotional stress, trauma besides financial losses to me. I’m outlining two major complaints that follow:

    1. Lost Baggage: I boarded with two Bags at Lilongwe. However, only one bag reached the final destination. The second bag was not delivered to me on arrival in Mumbai. Your ground staff Informed me that, that bag was offloaded from the plane due to over booking on the flight. Please note that over booking is the fault of the Airlines and there is no reason why I should suffer for Airlines fault of over booking. With all my clothes packed in the lost bag, I didn’t have any personal sanitary Items to use. The ground staff refused to assist me with relevant compensation on the account of lost baggage. Further, the undelivered/lost baggage consists of my personal belongings worth USD 1000. I’d urge the Airlines to Immediately compensate my financial loss, Inconvenience, and trauma.

    2. Damaged Bag: The second bag was delivered to me in bad shape. The bag was torn in two places. It seems that a member of your staff tried to force open it with an Intention to steal. Your ground staff at Mumbai Airport refused to assist me with a compensation to repair the bag. They also misbehaved and even refused to acknowledge my loss. I’m preparing to file a police case against that staff with all evidence for misbehaving with a woman passenger. But with Airlines, I appeal to you to take suitable action against that staff members and immediately provide a compensation to me for the damage caused to my bag and the trauma that caused to me.

I was very disappointed by ET airlines today. We’re supposed to depart from Dubai to ADD around 5PM flight number ET 603. At first we’re told they had to wait for some passengers which took them more than 20 minutes to depart. Later, the captain announced that there is a “miner” technical problem which we learned later it was flat tire. After sitting in the airplane for more than 3 hours, we’re told to get off the plane until they figure something. The bus came and took us to the terminal. No one from the airline was there to guide us to were to go or what we do next. They just left us in the middle of no where. There were some passengers who had a connection and missed their flight. Ethiopian Airlines should be held accountable and accommodate all the passengers. Now it’s 10PM and we still don’t know if we’re going back to Addis or we staying in Dubai. Once again, I’m very disappointed by ET airline.

I traveled from Addis to Nairobi on March 2nd after a 2 week work trip. On reaching Nairobi, my luggage was missing, a few attempts were made to locate the luggage but when it was clear it was lost, Ethiopian Airlines went quiet.

Now, 6 months later, several emails and calls later, i have heard nothing and my claim(NBOET30209) is still pending. I’ve had to incur the added expense of a new work wardrobe and it’s so frustrating because it seems i do not matter to this airline.

Well, thanks for the terrible experience, i’ll keep that in mind when making future travel plans and when talking to friends and family, i will definitely not be flying ET.

Ethiopian Airlines bumped at least eight people (including my party of two) off of a flight they overbooked from Addis Ababa to Washington DC. Their customer service was horrible and getting rebooked on another flight was a hugely painful endeavor. To salt the wound, they would not provide us meal vouchers or even access to one of their lounges while we waited for the new flight. They wouldn’t even give us an internet code to let our ride know that we would be arriving on a different flight more than six hours later.

After dealing with them, I have zero confidence in their customer service. Fly with them if you want to save money, but don’t be surprised with their terrible customer service, dated aircraft, and poor dependability.

We will not fly with them again and will warn everyone we know about them.

I had 1,000 euros plus 400 dollars stolen during the flight from Hong Kong to São Paulo (Guarulhos) from my carry on bag. I am sure it happened during the flight. When I got home I found in my bag where the money was supposed to be one 100 dollar bill, a lot of 1 dollar bills in the middle, and only 150 euros where my money was supposed to be (inside another bag in a pocket inside my bagpack). How to prove it? I do not have any idea but I am completely sure it happened during the flight!!!

I will start by saying you have the worst customer service in Nigeria, I mean, I have never encountered such incompetent in all my years flying different airlines or business with any company for that matter, and this will surely be my last .
How can you explain that I’ve been calling your call center number (+2348039759711) since on Friday last week to fix a date for my flight back to Bangkok, but no one will pick up, I called more than 80 times the above number, which is for Abuja, I called Lagos more than 20 times, still no one picking .I was supposed to resume work on Tuesday in Bangkok, but because of your incompetence I couldn’t. Yesterday (31-07-2017) being Monday, I called by 9 am, she picked and ask for my ticket number, which I gave and other necessary info as well as the date I intend to travel back, only for her to tell me later on in the call that their computer network is bad and she will get back to me.I waited till 2 pm and she didn’t call back, nor did I recieve any email. I decided to call, but no one picked the calls, even though it was ringing. I called from 2 pm till 6pm almost at 10 minutes interval, but my calls were not answered .For crying out loud, would I lose my job because i flew with Ethiopian airlines. I need to go back to work .This is the worst experience in my 20 years flying the world and My worst with any airlines and will definitely be my last with your airlines . How can you explain you have call centers in 3 regions in Nigeria, but none can pick ringing calls, even if u call 50 times .It’s quite a shame and disappointment.

    1. So true. The ET staffs in Nigeria are one the worst i have encountered. They dont pick up their calls, they are so rude and incompetant. They asked us to pay for a local delivery of our lost bag as well. Never seen such poor service anywhere.

I was travelling from Sacramento to Darsalam, Tanzania on the 23rd of July .2017 and had to stop in Washington. While boarding they adk me to go and get a new ticket from the counter. They then isdudf me with a new ticket and someone’s passport.
I did not see that until I arrived yesterday at 1:20pm.
They then try to locate the other person that was given my passport. Told me was going to arrive at 2am this morning but did not make it. Now I am still stuck here at the airlport for them to try and bring it today. I was not offered even a cup of water and had to wait at the departure waiting place until 4:22 this morning when they asked me if I want to come down to the business lounge. I am very very dissapointed and so upset as I already miss a day.of my business here in Tanzania.
There customer service and evetything is very poor and I demand an apology and a refund or I will publish this in the media if nothing is done. Right now I’m still waiting and not sure whether its going to arrive or not.

Both directions of my trip: IAD to WDH, and also VFA to IAD had important delays that resulted in both cases, in being rerouted through different flights.
The departing trip resulted in a delay of 3h aprox, and our luggage arriving the following day.
The return trip was especially a nightmare, with an overall delay of more than 30h to reach IAD. This was due to the fact that the first flight (ET829, on Apr 1st 2017) was delayed, resulting in me and my partner missing the connection. We were rebooked 30h later (more than one day later). This delay resulted in a major disruption for my professional activities, as I missed my flight for an international business trip, from the US to Germany, for which I paid 7,511 USD (Air France reservation 5XG8ET)

I would like to receive a compensation from Ethiopian Airlines for all costs I had to incur as a result of the 30h delay. I posted already several complaints to their website. Never received an answer nor an acknowledgement or apology.

We were travelling from Newark (US) to Del (India) on the 22nd of June. However, the flight from Newark (KP1002) got delayed at the airport for almost 3 hours. That meant that the connecting flight from Addis Ababa to Del (ET686) could not be made. The staff at the airport was completely incapable of handling the situation and we had to stand in lines for almost 3 hours before anyone even gave us any answers. we were booked on the next day’s flight, but were not given a hotel till 8 AM the next day (a total of 9 hours in the airport). The next day, we reached the airport at 8 PM to catch the flight, but were told that its been delayed to 3 AM. There was no prior communication, otherwise we would have stayed back at the hotel. even at 3, there was no communication from your staff and we kept on waiting. we finally boarded at around 6 AM (a total of 10 hours in the airport). From 2:30 till 6 we kept on asking the staff for information, but no one knew what was happening. in total, there was a 32 hour delay, out of which we spent more than 19 hours at the airport. not only was it immensely inconvenient and uncomfortable for us, but also cost us a day in office, plus other missed commitments. I would request for appropriate compensation for the delays as well as stress of spending 19 hours in the airport, along with the missed day at office.

Hi, I hate to fly Ethiopian Airlines. By now, I only take domestic flights with ET, if there is no other choice.

Years of incompetence and no improvement!

My luggages was lost from Entebbe to Düsseldorf. It took ET 5 days to find it and send it to my Hotel. After complaining, 3 month later they agreed to refund me 174 USD, but I had to pick up the cheque in Addis .

I booked a direct flight from Addis to Frankfurt and connection flight to Düsseldorf.. ET thought, it would be better to land in Rome first. We landed 2 hours late in Frankfurt and we all missed our connection flights. I had to pay 90 Euro extra for the train to Düsseldorf.

I can give you a lot of examples like hanging around Addis Ababa Airport for hours.. The plane is delayed. But when we finally boarded, we still had to wait for another plane coming from another destination.

ET does not have any clue about customer care..

    I

What I learned by now: It does not help to complain to Ethiopian Airlines.. You think you are doing great, but you are far away from the reality.

I will never travel with them again. I booked a flight from London to Dakar via Addis 6 months before the date. A month to the travel date, the ticket price had been lowered to roughly 50% which I found simply pathetic. Normally, ticket closer to the travel date the more expensive it is. That is not Ethiopian.

I traveled from South Africa on Sunday 9th July 2017 to Addis Ababa on arrival at Addis Airport to check my luggage only to find that my luggage is not the, they checked on the system and they said they can’t find it, I opened a file they said they will call me as soon as they have information, but I find myself calling the airline everyday and going there everyday to check and everyday they tell me that it’s not at Addis Airport, and I will call the south African office in between to no luck but what I have observed is that they don’t care and not seeing seriousness in the matter. It’s 14th July I have not received my luggage or been updated by them always when I call they promise that they will get back to me.

I would like to make a formal compliant about my experiences on Ethiopian airlines. On the (2 July 2017) I travelled on the Ethiopian airlines from Hargeysa, Somaliland to Heathrow, London via Addis as transit. I travelled on this airline yearly and I am very disappointed with the experience I had this year. My initial flight from Hargeysa was delayed by over 3 hours then we were Diverted to Dirdawa for more pick ups so by time we reached Addis we were over 5 hours late.

On arrival at Addis things were extremely slow which lead to the passengers missing flights but as for me i was not taking to hotel as i was transit for over 21 hours. The staff were unable to provide basic information/assistance they seemed bewildered and lack of costumer service.
We would be told queue up in one place wait 4 hours only to reach the end then be told this the wrong place and we need to go to another place then we would wait at the next place another 4+hours with our passports taken and be hashed to just wait. Some passengers fainted and collapsed out of exhaustion and even then help was no were around and it took 10mins for staff member to come and assist. Other passenger lost their temper and became violent and physical so the whole place was that of catastrophe.

I left my house (in Somaliland 2/7/2017 @ 8:30am and till we came on the plane the next day 3/7/2017 @11am i haven’t eaten and in constant worry if i will miss my flight even with a long transit like this!).

At Addis i was unable to fulfil arrangements as i had made plans to meet family but with all the delays my journey was one of frustration and worry what will come next.

Finally although as mentioned I travelled with this airline yearly and i always lean toward the Ethiopian airline as of to other airlines; I have had such a poor experience i will need to reconsider my future flight. Ahmed

On Wednesday 5th July 2017, booking reference #LVMUUA, my daughter and I flew from Nairobi to Addis on ET809 snd connected on ET835 ftom Addis to Windhoek. On arrival at our rnd destination, Windhoek, none of our 3 cases were present. Todate, Friday 7th July, I have not heard of the whereabouts of my lost luggage. Every call I make is met with “we will call you back”. My luggage had perishable items, medications, school books and even a laptop. On arrival in Windhoek, we filled some forms but sadly nobody even bothrrs to apologise.

    Our luggage tags are:
    ET682735
    ET682729
    ET682701

SADLY, this is my second such experience in as many months and on the same route.
On Sunday 23rd April, I flew business class on ET307 from Nairobi via Addis (ET859) and Johannesburg to Windhoek. Aside from a 4hour delay in Addis, leading to a missed connection from Johannesburg to Windhoek, costing me a further 6hours transit in Johannesburg, my luggage only showed up in Windhoek on the late night of Wednesday 26th April.
Suffice it to say, ET had no staff to assist @Johannesburg Airport and left me to my own devices.

Todate, nobody ever apologised or called or said a thing. They just do not care

Hi! I forgot a hand luggage dark grey small bag at Addis airport flight Addis-Mombasa ET 322 at screening area gate 2 upstairs that contained 2phones – Samsung galaxy note 3 and small wico phone, and 3 Xbox wireless controllers. I remembered when we just boarded the plane, and a ground attendant Hanna promised to follow up but no response. We reported to Ethiopian airlines agent in Mombasa and to Mr. Fekado in Mombasa branch but no response and their phones gives a message cannot be reached. Please assist to at least give a response and follow up. I’m desperate and I and family are frequent flyers of Ethiopian airlines. I’ll highly appreciate your positive response. Thanks.

We flew from Johannesburg on 24th June, 2017 and the flight was delayed by 4.5 hours, and I lost my connection from Addis Ababa to Mumbai, and from Mumbai to Baroda. You had accommodated me in next days flight, and I received the voucher from your side as a compensation. When I asked at Mumbai airport to en cash the voucher, they said, it does not hold any value.

ISN’T IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO COMPENSATE CUSTOMER FOR THEIR GRIEVANCES AND LOSES DUE TO YOU?

It is airlines responsibility to compensate us for all the loses and the time which was lost due to you.

On top of all my problems, we have not received my luggage when we landed at Mumbai airport. When asked, we were informed, the luggage will arrive in the next flight, and as expected, it did not arrive. After a lot of problems and arguments at the counter, we were able to lodge a complaint about missing luggage and we were informed that it will be couriered to us in next tow days.

They also gave us a number to contact to check if the luggage is arrived or not, but THE WORST AIRLINE IN THE WORLD’s number is NOT ANSWERING the call.

So basically, we are stuck without everything even after 3 days.

Your flight ET2421 from Riyadh to Addis Ababa on 24 June 2017 did not depart and no ET staff were available to guide passengers.

Moreover the Saudi staff at Airport kept mis treating ET passengers like never before.

There are no staff of ET available to guide us. The Riyadh customer care number is never answered. The 800 814 0018 number is answered but since based in Addis Ababa have no info to give.

Why charge cancellation fee of USD 200 for a flight that ET did not operate ??

    This treatment is not acceptable.

We had to opt for this airline at last minute on our vacation to Kenya. We were initially booked by Qatar Airways but could not use that airline since it was stopped going to Dubai. We did a mistake of booking with ET.

We booked because after checking flight details aircrafts were mentioned as 787 and 777. After booking tickets and selecting our seats together, first problem came when there was a schedule change. We were supposed to have 2 hours stopover at Addis, new schedule changed it to just 30 minutes. I called the helpline two times to ask if this is sufficient time for transfer and the answer was more than sufficient! Because of this schedule change airline also changed aircraft to 737 and also ignored seat preferences. We got seats issue fixed but connection was a nightmare.

It all started with inflight services, where attendant button doesn’t seek at attention it’s not a single case for whole aircraft. Cabin crew simply doesn’t care. I had to go to all the way to back of aircraft where they warm up food, yet failing to get their attention and finally they gave a glass of water. Aircraft was having a strong unpleasant odour and the whole seats were soiled. I must say this worst 777 experience I had in my life.

Flight was 35 minutes delayed for no obvious reason leading to a missed connection to Nairobi. From this point the worst traveling experience of life started. Transfer desk was highly rude and impolite giving blunt answers to all the customers that they cannot do much. After waiting more than an hour in a queue they booked for a flight which was supposed to leave after 8 hours. They gave us meal voucher but the lounge they were using for this purpose have the same adverse hospitality issues.

There was a construction going on with no protection for passengers and the burning wood because of drilling in front of that holding place named as lounge. It triggers an allergy since we were not used to this and then we have to spend another two hour to search for pharmacy and there is no pharmacy. Finally a customer service rep got pity and called a nurse and that was the only lady who helped us getting anti allergy medicine.

Now we are 4 hours in to our waiting time and another four are left and we don’t know what’s going to happen further.

Shocking service at Dubai Airport checking in for our flight to Addis Ababa.

Told that we have cancelled our own tickets – it’s our fault.

Then told that was a mistake and our flight was full.

    Asked to wait 30 minutes.

Then told our flight was cancelled.

No comminication, text or email before we reached the airport.

It’s now 2 hours later. We are still waiting at check in to find out what’s going on. No apology and no communication. A sarcastic ethiopian airways rep smiling at us and refusing to apologise because it’s not his fault.

No manager available for is to complain.

Never traveling with this airline again. Shocking and poor. If only your staff had been more friendly or had communicated with us.

Telling all my friends, colleagues, customers and acquaintances to avoid your airline.

    Ethiopia Airline Recently
are doing Illegal actions in Djibouti Airport.

The Ethiopian flight airlines in Djibouti Airport violated all routines and seized and did not allow passengers to travel to Addis Airport via transit without any lawful cause telling that there is no coordination between Ethiopia Airlines and Another Airlines.
They requested a transit visa to Addis Airport in spite of the fact that the law and routines followed in Djibouti Airport with ( Transit visa is not required if the passengers transit just only 12 hours and no Leaves ADD Airport ) Because they Passengers Have booking from Addis Airport to Another Airport by the Another Airlines. And some transit only 4-5 hours in ADD Airport . And A passengers travel through Addis Airport in the same way and they are not asked any a transit visa.
But The Ethiopian flight airlines does not allow any passengers to travel by them .The Ethiopian flight airlines need all passengers to booking from them all trip . And no’t any passengers to booking by another airline . Only booking and travel by The Ethiopian flight airlines for all Trip .

Very uncomfortable aircraft! Myself and my husband travelled from Gaborone Botswana to Addis Ababa on the 8th of April 2017 and I had a connection to Dubai in the same day we have transfer from the runway and we didn’t have time to get into the airport same thing happened when my husband returned also. It’s long hours flight so expected to have an Entertainment Unit in the aircraft and clean lavatories but we didn’t experience both the lavatories were out of order and it was very unclean, the aircraft should make all the effort for passengers comfortable travel. We were not impressed with the service..it’s the worst experience in our 10 years of air travelling. Unfortunately I have booked my return with Ethiopian airlines so I will have to travel if not we will never fly in this airlines. I will never recommend anyone to fly Ethiopian airlines. I wanted to make the complain because no passenger should experience the same.

I have to complain about the unprofessional attitude shown to me by Ethiopian Airlines . I checked in at LSS Airport in Dakar, Senegal on 31st March heading to Kabul via Addis and Dubai, my flight was by 8 am but by 7.50 am Ethiopian airlines announced a delay in departure and that my flight would leave at 1..30 pm. No reason was given and all the passengers were left in the terminal and were only served with a single sandwich and a cup of drinks. My travel saw a delay and upon arrival at Addis, I reported to the Ethiopian Airlines staff that due to the late departure from Dakar, I will miss my connection flight from Dubai to Kabul the following day. After a lot of stories from them, I was asked to see the supervisor the following day when I come to board for Dubai. When I cam on the 1st April, I sought and talked with the staff at the connecting flights desk in the Addis airport. There the lady on duty TOLD ME PLAIN THAT ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES WILL NOT PROVIDE ME ANY TICKET TO CONNECT FROM DUBAI TO KABUL AS THAT’S A DIFFERENT AIRLINE. May I ask,
    1. Who caused the delay that lead to me missing my connection from Dubai to Kabul?
    2. If I was late to board from Dakar would I not be penalized?
    3. What was going to happen if I had no extra cash with me to buy another ticket to connect from Dubai to Kabul?
    4. I am expatriate staff working in Kabul what would have happened if I was sacked for reporting for work late?

Iam Abdalla Mirghani, a passenger in flight no.347V dated 28th January from Khartoum to Addis Abba (my first transit station in my way to Sacramento via Los Angeles my second transit station). I arrived safely in Addis Airport. On the announcement of the trip to Los Angeles I headed to the gate and went through all the checking points till I reached the final checking point where I presented my boarding pass and the passport. To my surprise I was stopped and barred from boarding the plane. The young lady who was incharge called upon someone who came and took my passport together with the boarding card. I ran after him to take them but with no avail. He disappeared in the crowded raucous Terminal. I went roaming about in the whole place looking for the man who took my passport. Mercifully a man came and asked me to follow him. I did ,and he then took me to an open place where he asked me to wait. He came with a young man who explained that they received notice from the USA embassy that holders of entry visas to their country(USA) from certain countries including the Sudan are prohibited and not allowed to enter. I then asked him to give me back my passport and the boarding card. He apologized saying that it is not possible now and they shall return it tomorrow and he pointed to the place where I can asked for them (I must say that this young man is very polite and helpful).I spent that night sleeping in the floor. The next day the 29th of January,I went straight to the place shown to me yesterday and it happened to be the transit (transfer)office.

I asked for my passport and the boarding pass. they asked me to wait for some time for they contacted their Washington office to look for a possible solution with the authorities there, and I can come back within two hours time to see if there is a solution .This scenario have been repeated so many times without any result. I observed that they started to ignore me when I insisted on having my traveling documents. At last, they asked me to talk to the US embassy. I refused. At this point one of the employees addressed me in a very aggressive harsh way telling me that they can refuse to carry me. I was astonished to hear such an aggressive talk to a customer.I told him they are not the only airlines carrier(I do not want to elaborate on the possible detrimental effects of this reckless behavior on the Airline’s reputation).

I met the lady superintendent. She asked me in a very polite and friendly manner to leave for Khartoum, for she has been asked by The Ethiopian Immigration Authorities to urge me to leave.I told her that am expecting a forthcoming détente tomorrow .She told me to go and meet the immigration office. They referred me back to her. She agreed.

On the early morning of the 30th, I realized that there is no hope for any positive decision from the USA . I therefore decided to take the first plane to khartoum. I asked them to give me back my passport .They asked if am going to buy a ticket .I told them they have already the boarding pass with a greater money value than the price of the ticket from Addis to Khartoum and that am entitled for a refund for the residual value. I was told to go to gate 13 where I will be given the boarding pass. As for the passport it will be returned to me by the Sudanese authorities at Khartoum.

As I wanted to take the bus to the plane, the lady incharge asked me to sign a (WAIVER FOR MISSING OR INSUFFICIENT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS).When i went through the WAIVER ,i realized that they wanted me to forego the residual value after deducting the value of the ticket ADDIS/ KHARTOUM from the value of the ticket ADDIS/ LOS ANGELES. I refused to sign. She then told me that I will not be able to board the plane unless I signed the paper(a copy attached).

I must say that I have NO missing or insufficient travel documents. My travel documents are a passport with exit and entry visas stamped on it and the ticket no. 0719116562048.As you can see there is no irregularity in my travel documents. From the foregoing it is obvious that this is an outright, outrageous and humiliating extortion operation.

Hi, my name is Helen. On the 10th of April 2017 I flew on the ET934 from Abidjan to Addis Ababa.

During this flight I asked the air hostess for a blanket. She said, ‘no blanket’. I had to also ask for a new head phone set because the previous customer had left a reused set.

It’s quite sad that the Ethiopian Airline Air Hostess fail to retain the companies high quality customer service for the economy class.

As a suggestion on a quarterly basis, it’s good practise to retrain staff on delivering a great customer service experience, so that customer’s will always come back. This helps the employee sustain a high quality customer service on behalf of representing the company. A ‘win win’ for all parties involved.

I do hope and pray that the air hostess will improve on delivering an exceptional customer service experience. And I do look forward to continue flying with Ethiopian Airlines.

I have been traveling with Ethiopian airlines since 2008. I have travelled with many other airlines -Qathar, Emirates, Luthhansa SAA to mention a few. I have told many people about your airlines as i am also a tourguide. Your service regarding food was always extremely good, HOWEVER, I have noticed a deterioration of your food that you serve. This is but just one of many complaints regarding your food. We came back with from Los Angeles with your midnight flight on the 12th April 2017. The green salad-the lettuce was slimemy. Food poisoning is very real. Your rolls are hard. You are serving fasting food on your flights. Not everyone would want to eat fasting food, as there are not only Ethiopians using your airlines. Do cater for other passengers as well, The food was cold as well. Your airlines made very BIG profits, However do not let it be on the expense of cutting on the food that you serve. Other than that your service is excellent. I am very impressed with your Cape Town office staff. They are always walking the extra mile, especially Mr Kibrom, Eric and Roxanne. They are an asset to your organisation. Please do value them. Yours Sincerely, Mrs G M Blaauw

Ethiopian Air is the most uncaring and incompetent airline I have ever flown with. Going on Day 4 of no luggage in Africa– a trip I’ve been planning as far as I can remember. I’ve spent all of my trip so far dealing with the airline rather than ‘travelling’. I can not count the number of calls and trips to the airport I’ve taken meanwhile no one from Ethiopian Air has contacted me by phone, email, social media etc. They haven’t even offered to cover costs while I wait…

    1. I just returned home from Malawi in Africa with the exact same experience. I arrived at the Blantyre Airport on May 6, 2017, we had a total of 8 pieces of luggage, on May 6 5 pieces arrived. On May 7th 2 pieces arrived. The final piece, my entire supplies and clothing for my 11 day trip, did not arrived. I called and emailed many different numbers and people and have yet to receive any response at all. It is now May 18, 2017 and of course I am back home, my entire trip I had to use a friend’s clothing and I had 1 pair of shoes the entire time. Unacceptable and ridiculous

The is my first time of using Ethiopia airline to fly and all the service i get is very poor. I missed my flight due to the airline’s fault of changing boarding gate. I was told to pay penalty for their mistake. After getting to my destination my luggage went missing in which i was told my luggage has already landed at my final destination. I cant trace or track where it is now.

    Horror trip

l am very disappointed with the service and treatment l got from your airline.
I booked a return flight from DUBAI to Johannesburg. The flight was delayed from Dubai and this caused for more delays in leaving and missing our connecting flight. As much as l understand that delays can not be avoided at times, l however am not happy with the service l received on board and at the airport. The breakfast saved on the flight was inedible and no person should be served such food, the bun was not covered in plastic, and it was rock hard and not fresh, not to talk of the stale muffins that l could not even get my self to swallow. I then asked for a blanket to keep myself warm and trying not to pay attention to my groveling stomach, to my disappointment the flight attendant told me they had non. So l was left hungry and cold. I snuggled up in my seat awaiting to get to Addis Ababa. As we get there we are told our connecting flight has left so we have been booked into a hotel, mind you the person relating this information seems out of sync and does not apologies what so ever for the inconvenience caused. We are asked to wait outside for the hotel shuttle that has not arrived and are made to wait for 20 minutes under the warm weather of this beautiful Addis ababa. At this point l am very exhausted, hot and hungry and asking myself what else could go wrong. We get to the hotel we are made to wait again for rooms that are not yet ready and are offered breakfast that l could not even eat as hungry as l was so l chose to wait with my exhaustion and hunger. The hotel staff shows no friendliness or try to make us feel at ease instead they tell us they have certain agreements with the airline so some things we have to pay for. I get to the room l could not even sleep a wink due to the construction noise that felt like it was going to tear my ear drums. The hotel room was filthy with dirt and and the food they served was worse than what we got on the airline. There was no hot water in the hotel rooms and when l asked for drinking water l was only given 1 bottle 500 ml and was informed l had to pay if l wanted more than that. I doubt this would make sense to any living being that one can only consume such a small amount of water when you have a 15 hour unplanned layover in a dirty hotel. Surely after trusting Ethiopian airlines for so long one would think they would treat their patrons well and so much better that this. Sitting in my room hungry, thirsty, dirty ,worried about my luggage and my 1 night stay l have lost in South Africa and can not get a refund for due to this inconvenience one could only wonder what else l will face with this airline. I dreaded my return flight and just as l thought the experience on the return flight wasn’t any better. If this is how Ethiopian airlines has decided to treat its patrons my family and friends would rather take our loyalty somewhere else.

Purchased an online ticket to Namibia with a return from Harare. Due to unavoidable circumstances had to change the return date. This was done over the phone by my wife who was in England. A confirmation was issued and money debited from her account. Upon arrival at the airport in Harare I could not check in because the Ethiopian officials wanted to see the card which had been used to amend the ticket. Attempts to explain that it was in England and money had been debited from the account fell on deaf ear. It was then that we were told the card should have been presented at the Ethiopian airlines office in London. This was not mentioned to my wife when she amended the ticket besides that this was the card that purchased the original ticket. We did not have to present the card on purchase. I was forced to pay for the ticket amendment fee again to be allowed to check in. Which meant we payed twice for the same amendment. Surprisingly they were a few people affected that day by the same problem but no one has written a complaint. We have been trying to get Ethiopian airlines to refund us one of the payments after initial responses we have been met by silence from them. Their conduct is immoral illegal we have no option but to commence legal proceedings. Surely this is no conduct expect for an airline that wants to be Africas leading airline.

My luggage was forcefully taken from me at boarding gate D19 (in the tunnel) on March 24th, 2017, My small bag was weighed at the checkin point and given a green hand luggage tag, and handed over to me. One of Ethiopian airlines employees (Indian guy) kept me in the tunnel for 30 minutes refusing to let me board the flight with my hand luggage. I clearly stated that I do not wish to have any checkin luggage, for I do not want to go through the trouble of my luggage getting lost. I have not heard anything regarding my stolen luggage.

I flew from Newark, NJ to Addis then from Addis to Djibouti. When I arrived to djibouti, my luggage was missing. I received my suitcase after 2 days but half of my stuff (goods) had been stolen. I will never go back to Ethiopian airlines.

I faced a lot of trouble during my travelling from Ethiopian airlines on 4th Feb., 2017 and 27th Feb., 2017 (Booking ref. ZFWQB9 and ticket no. 071-1127464961-62). On 4th Feb., I had travelled from Dire Dewa –Addis –Mumbai and my baggage was booked for collecting at my final destination at Jaipur. Due to some delay in the flight, I did my all efforts to catch the next connecting flight for Jaipur but could not get due some delay in the flight from Addis to Mumbai and the baggage was not transferred directly to Jaipur. My baggage should be transferred automatically for jaipur instead of placing the same on belt. At Mumbai airport, I was asked to collect the baggage from the belt and then catch the flight and hence I went to the belt and surprise to see that my baggage was placed on the belt instead of transferring the same automatically in my next flight which is going to jaipur within some minutes. I collect my baggage from the belt and reached on the window of my next flight (Jet airways). They did not entertain to me and asked to contact at Ethiopian Airline window. I contacted the official at Ethiopian Airline window at Airport but I was asked to wait. I told my situation but they asked me to wait as there was no time to wait. Thus I could not get the flight for Jaipur and faced a big problem at the Airport as my family was waiting at Jaipur airport after hiring a private transportation from Hisar to Jaipur and back which is 380 km away.
Again I contacted the Ethiopian officials at Mumbai Airport and stood for many hours on the window for solution. At last, I was issued the boarding pass for Delhi through AI flight instead of Jaipur. In this way, my family has to return back at Hisar which is 380 KM away from Jaipur and they have to pay Rs.7200/- for private transportation. I reached at Delhi and have to organize the private transportation from Delhi Airport to Hisar and paid Rs.3800/- for reaching at Hisar. In this way I was not only faced a lot of troubles/problems on 4th Feb. due mistake by your airlines but also a loss of money on other side. So I expect compensation for these problem and financial loss without any reason.
Again I travelled from Jaipur to Dire Dawa on 27th Feb., 2017 (Jaipur –Mumbai-Addis-Dire Dewa) and also faced problem. At Mumbai airport, I was told that my baggage may be checked and I agreed for the same but I told that my baggage should reach in time for my next flight. I am sorry to say that I could not get my one baggage at Dire dawa airport on 27th Feb., 2017. I contacted the official at Dire Dawa airport for loss of my baggage and they asked me to wait for next flight. Hence I waited at Airport for next flight but could not get. In the late night, I have to spend 600 Bir for hiring the private transportation to reach at my destination as I was late due to my lost baggage at Airport and thus I faced lot of trouble on that day as it was new place for me. Due to this problem, I could not join my work in the next day. I got my baggage after 3 days i.e. on 1st March, 2017. I was also surprised that some of the materials of Approx. 80 US dollar (Two packets of almond, one packet of Pista, one packet of walnut, one packet of ghee and my power bank) were also missing from my bag. The bag was also damaged and having scratches on many places. Due these problems, it gave me lot of pain as I faced during my travelling through your airlines and I was forced to write to you for information and expect further compensation for these problems.

I’m typing this complain with full of pain. While I was boarding last minutes from Addis to JUBA on 21 Feb 20 17 at 10:00 hrs, my name and other 3 persons called last minutes and told that we could not board. I asked them to justify and they all disappear without proper justification. After a while a lady supervisor at domestic flight came and tried to make up the usual lip service which is not totally unacceptable and rubbish.
What surprised me more that, I saw two passengers whom I know them personally, who were denied access from the very beginning for the reason of the flight is full, appeared during boarding time.
When I realized that I was denied boarding in replacement of those people, I felt really disgrace as a client and never felt shameful as Ethiopian being systematically discriminated and decided to complain.
The plain truth is, the online system is not operating or the analogue manpower around the local flight is not compatible to the online system or there is an internal imperceptible discrimination of clients among Ethiopians. I would be happy if the management sorts out the issue and such shameful modus operandi of the esteemed Ethiopian Airlines if really the motto is to continue as ” … the spirit to Africa ..”
How come a person is denied during boarding time and others who were not allowed to check in last minute allowed to board ??? This will remain as pain forever in my Ethiopian flight experience. The managers may not take action on such bizarre situation assuming that Ethiopian clients are nothing for EAL or has no option except Ethiopian Airlines service. I am sending you my pain to sort it out and waiting your response on the management action on the shameful decision made by the domestic flight attendant on this particular day and flight.

    Best reagds,
    Yared Abebe

On my flight ET 687 DEL-ADD
The plane left Delhi 2.30 hours late (we were told by the captain that they were checking the plane due to some problems) and as a result of this, we missed the last flight AR 1245 GRU- AEP. When we reached the gate, the flight had already closed.
We were sent to a hotel and put on another flight the following morning, 13 hours later The consequences were:
a- I could not go to work on Friday, and was discounted one day’s work
b- I had organized for private transportation to take me from Bs As to Rosario and I lost 80 US dollars I expect compensation for all these problems

I arrived at Ben Gurion Airport Tel Aviv Airport with my brother at Thursday 5th January 2017 at 6am and proceeded to check in at the Ethiopian Check in counter as was indicated in the confirmed Travel Reservation and electronic ticket.

At approximately 2 hours before boarding I was informed by the Ethiopian Airline staff member to proceed to the Ethiopian Ticketing office as I missed my flight on the 4th January 2017 and I was then told to proceed to the Ethiopian Ticketing office.I went to the Ethiopian ticketing office located on the same floor as the check in counter and here I was informed to pay an amount of USD 200 if I wanted to board the flight because I changed my ticket and missed my flight.

I showed the Ethiopian Airline staff member at the ticketing office my ticket in both a hard copy and my emails received indicating I was confirmed on the flight leaving on the 5th January 2017 and also had both my seat and my brothers seat allocated and confirmed.

At this point the ticketing office staff member said he could do nothing for me and asked me to wait for an Ethiopian manager named (pronounced Elena) which I did and by this time boarding was taking place while I was told to wait .

I proceeded to show my valid ticket to the Ethiopian staff Elena who demanded I pay USD 200 x2 or the equivalent in skekels which I did not carry at the time. I explained to both Elena and a supervisor at the checking counter repeatedly that I have a valid ticket and had travelled from Haifa by train and bus to reach the airport in time to fly and board on time.

I was told to go back to Haifa or call any family member to pay before I could board and at this stage the gates were closing.I frantically asked for both the supervisor and manager at the checking counter to check that I had a valid paid for ticket which they both ignored and left me standing shocked and distressed.

By 8h30 I was told that the boarding gates were closed and that my boarding was denied. No offer of a valid reason or full explanation given other than that I missed my flight the previous day. The attitude of all the Ethiopian staff members at the time was most unhelpfull and at times inappropriate. For example I was told to wait for another manager who did not arrive and asked to go back and forth without any assistance.

I called my husband in South Africa who together with STA travel then proceeded to re book another ticket for me in order to return home. After several local and international phone calls I had to arrange and incur additional accommodation including local train and bus travelling expenses.

This incident left me and my brother totally exhausted and traumatized and with additional expenses after we had to return to Haifa.

I want to congratulate you on an excellent Fruit platter on the flight from Johannesburg to Addis Abba on 3rd of February 2017. Even dried fruit was in a little bowl on the tray. Flight ET 808.

Two previous trips were horrible when I ask for a Fruit platter and get two green apples. The first time when I show my dissatisfaction they add an orange. The crew from Business class set a good Fruit platter after the time, but I refuse to eat it. The second time when I received two green apples, the air-hostess fetched for me an orange that she cut and OLD slices of apple, – already brown – and a stem with grapes that was already eaten. I do have photos of these horrible Fruit platters and really hope NOT to receive again these disgusting Fruit platters. These Fruit platters were on the flights from Riyadh to Addis Abba ET 413.

Come on Ethiopian Airlines don’t degrade the Fruit platters. I fly regularly with Ethiopian Airlines and recently you upgrade me to the silver class. Thank you for this appreciation showed.

On the day that I was flying while we were boarding the agent informed that me and my partner are sitting separate. At this point I wasn’t aware of it. I explained that I have requested for all of us to sit together because we were traveling with 2 young babies. She looked at my baby 9 month old and said to me that she was too BIG she won’t fit in to the mouse basket, then started raising her voice. She then told us to sit and decide..shouting at us in front of customers, in front of my kids 2 year old and 9 month old. At this point am asking her to low her voice and not to speak to me in front of customers like that, she threatened me that she won’t let us fly. My partner had tears in his eyes as this trip was to go and see his parents that are not well.

I’ve been brought up in the UK and I have studied in this country, now where was my human right, why was this assistance unprofessional towards me and doing all this in front of customers and my children..I was travelling with a valid ticket. She was so rude I can’t stop thinking about it. Can customer service agents bully people? I think the TV has it all recorded. ET700 flight number on 05/01/2017.

This is my second time I have experienced this terrible service by your airlines. First time I was travelling from Johannesburg to Mumbai and I have one stop at Addis Ababa( 30 mins). My First flight from Johannesburg started more than an hour late and no reason was told by pilot for delay (technical or weather), because of this delay I have missed my second flight from Addis. There were more than 30 people who are supposed to board on that flight and prior we have told that our second flight will wait for us. There was total chaos at the airport and no management was there (not even drinking water). After sometime we have been told that they will manage us in their second flight but nothing happened after spending almost 5 to 6 hours at the airport, we have given accommodation to the nearest hotel and we all boarded to next day flight. Because of this I have not only missed my domestic flight from Mumbai but also arrived one day late.

As you get different experiences many times in life, I thought may be this is one of them. Last month I booked my flight for the same route (Johannesburg to Mumbai) and this time it was an emergency, my Grandmother was gravely ill. This time also I had the same experience like before. First flight was delayed more than an hour without any reason. My flight was in front on me and they didn’t allow me to board in that flight. I was given next flight which is after 3 hours because of which I missed my domestic flight and not refunded any money. This delay not only caused me money but also I was not able to taken part in my grandmother’s last rituals. Your staff also not sure what’s going on, they don’t have any answer and they behaved very rudely to me.

Not sure why your airline is doing this. There are many instance of such events and this takes place almost everyday. I have suspicion of some kind of corruption involved in this with hotel management and Ethiopian airlines, because this type of mistakes can not be repeatable. I request you to kindly look into this matter if you are not aware of this or please do something to stop this. Because of this you are not only impacting life of your passengers but this is seriously a huge problem for your airline’s image as well.

    Hi,

I booked the round trip below from SFO to NSI, and would like to complain about additional stopovers that were very prejudicial.
Although the plane ticket doesn’t mention it, we made additional stops at the following airports:
Flight 1015 from LFW to NSI on Dec 28th also stopped in Libreville, Gabon, although that stop wasn’t mentioned on the ticket
Flight 923 from NSI to ADD on Jan 12th stopped in Libreville , Gabon
Flight 500 from ADD ti IAD on Jan 12th stopped in Dublin, Ireland

All those additional stopovers were stressful, draining, and very prejudicial. That’s why I decided to file a formal complain & look forward to hearing you back

I’m typing this complain with tears in my eyes. I flew from New Wark to Lagos and upon my arrival in Lagos, one of my bags was missing . I didn’t get the bag until the 3rd day after I arrived. Flying back to the United States, the 2 bags I checked in, I didn’t find them at the baggage claim and it’s been like 4 days now. Everything I have is in these bags. I have no clothes to wear and no shoes to wear as I’m talking. There are a lot of valuables in there. The airport representative told me my luggage should come the 3rd day but I didn’t see them the 3rd. Now I’m still here traveling back and forth from New York to New Jersey if there is any hope of getting my Bag. Your customer care phone number doesn’t work at all. I’ve called for ever to no avail. I’m frustrated and I’m tweeting about this and I will make it go viral. I’m also reporting this to Consumer protection and I’m ready to fight this till the last sweat of my blood. I need my 2 bags! I can’t function without them!

I booked a ticket from Heathrow (UK) to Lusaka (Zambia) in March 2016 under reservation code GHWVMI. I requested if a deposit would be paid £166.55 to secure booking and pay off balance in the next 2 days. Granted, and paid the amount in Ethiopian airline account on 22/03/2016 at 13.52 hrs. Next day received e-mail that ticket been cancelled (does not exist). Requested (found) another ticket and paid £703.95 ticket No. 0712114438559. Have since then, requested for refund of £166.55 paid earlier but never been answered positively on several e-mails with Ethiopian airline. E-mails to Digist 31/03/2016, 4/04/2016, Bamlaku, Radiet 6/04/2016, Bethlehem 7/04/2016 have all come back passing the issue to another person without any concrete decision. I await the refund.

I’d like to make a complaint against Ethiopian Airlines due to what I experienced Thursday, December 22nd. The flight ET 509 was delayed for several hours due to several seats and televisions repair issue. We were told to board the plane, even though a mechanic was busy fixing the chairs and televisions. Coincidently a stretcher was placed on my seat, which forced me to stand during the duration of the seat and television repair. If needed, I can provide a photos.

Also, a man assaulted a woman on flight ET 931 and became obnoxious, violent, and loud throughout the flight. I was very disappointed that all flight attendants ignored the situation. As a customer, we are supposed to receive a certain level of service. Because of the violent passenger, my flight to Enugu was extremely uncomfortable.

Due to the flight delay, I arrived in Ethiopia later than expected and missed an event I was supposed to attend. I traveled to more than 20 countries and this is the first time I experienced these kind of issues on a flight.

I am from the DRC and don’t have much choice on the companies to chose to fly out of the continent, so I am stuck with them though I have had horrible experiences with them.

On my last return flight from Paris few days, I called 12 hours ahead to confirm the allowed weight per check-in bag. Not only it’s almost impossible to find a working number to their customer services, I had to called more then 10 times to finally get some one to pick up their phone. Their customer service agent on the line (+33890210404) confirmed me that they were offering a 32 kg special for flight departing from Paris to the DRC and without any condition. Surprisingly, when I arrived at the counter for check-in, of course they denied it and were very non cooperative. Few other customers were told the same thing and we were required to pay fees.

Last August, we were stuck in the plane on the tarmac in Beijing for 7-1/2 hours waiting for our flight to taxi. Of course, we all missed our connexion flight home and were booked in horrible hotels in a very unsafe neighborhood of Addis Ababa.

One time, few years ago, they even lost my mother’s WHEELCHAIR! They said she did n’t check it in even though is >72% handicapped and can’t either walk or stand up at all. I filed a complaint and we never had any responses or refund on that, ever.

Worst customer service and horrible at dealing with claims. Every time I fly with them, I hope and pray they don’t lose my luggage.

This is so unprofessional and absurd. I’ve been calling, writing, my brother had to miss work to reach the airport, looking for answers, and I have received no information at all! I don’t know how you usually deal with these kinds of situations, but this is completely unacceptable and I’m filling a report.

I find it completely unprofessional how you have been NOT managing my situation! My luggage was missing for 5 days.
After I found out my luggage was lost, I immediately contacted the baggage claim representative in Madrid saying I was leaving in two days to Croatia, Zagreb where I’m currently living and that I needed my bag with me.

He assured me that my luggage would be on the next flight, of course it wasn’t.
My baggage was missing for 5 days and it is now in Madrid, when I myself am in Croatia, with no clothes, no shoes, no bathroom accessories and no souvenirs I had for my friends and family.

I expect my luggage to be sent back to Croatia. Besides that, I`m entitled to a compensation from the Ethiopian Airlines under the Montreal Convention, not only for the 5 days delay, but for all the things I had to buy while my bag was missing and while is in Madrid.

You should feel ashamed on how you treat your customers.

My husband and I planned on spending our last day of our honeymoon exploring Johannesburg before our flight with ethiopian airways the following day. Upon arrival in johannesburg I checked us in for our flight. I was shocked and confused to find that my return date had been changed to 2 DAYS later (from Sunday to Tuesday). Booking reference: KPBQJE

I am a doctor. I have patients that I need to perform surgery on and who are scheduled for Monday morning. As well, I NEVER received an email or phone call about the change. I booked with ethiopian airlines because they are are a member of star alliance. I have experienced flight time changes in the past, but a full 2 day change is unexceptable. Should I have accepted the new depature/arrival I guess ethiopian airlines would have just assumed I sorted out my unexpected 2 day stay in Ethiopia, rescheduled my patients and ate the great financial cost of this extra expense as well as time away from work.

Worst of all is that I spend my last day of holiday on the phone with your airline. When I finally connected with a representative my options were less then ideal. Instead of 2 flights I am booked for 3. Instead of a full day back home I will only have a few hours prior to work the next day. I am so disappointed and upset.

At the very least I expected an upgrade to buisness class, but that was also fought with resistance. They told me we could be upgraded, but we needed to speak to thr station mnanager (Mr. Minaley). Aftet speaking to him he said it was customer relations and back and forth it went. Again hours wasted. How ethiopian airlines can be apart of star alliance shocks me. I have flown many of the alliance airlines with pleasure. This was quite upsetting. There is still time before our flight tomorrow to at least show my husband and I some goodwill and perhaps upgrade us to buisness class.

I was offered a refund, which should I have known about the schedule change earlier I could have taken it, but on the day of travel is not a helpful offering.

As no accommodations have been made I do intend to issue a formal complaint to star alliance as well as post my experience on social media.

I think customer service is very important. Rectifying unacceptable circumstances as well as showing further gesture I believe is critical.

I booked an air ticket through a travel agent from Pointe-Noire to Mangalore . The first two segment of the travel was by Ethiopian Airlines starting from Pointe-Noire On 18.12.2016 and the scheduled departure was at 2: 15 PM . This flight did not take off on time due to some technical snag and was delayed by more than 48 hrs. Subsequently after 48 Hrs. the flight took off and I reached ADDIS ABABA and then to MUMBAI. On reaching Mumbai, I learned that my Baggage also did not reach, which I received only on 31.12.2016.

The last segment of my flight was from Mumbai to Mangalore by Jet Airways (India). I approached the Ethiopian air lines help desk at Mumbai Airport for a connection flight ticket to Mangalore which they refused to provide, I also contacted Mr. Kifle at Mumbai. He also refused to provide me ticket.

I lost the connection flight from Mumbai to Mangalore only because of the 48 Hrs delay of my first Ethiopian Airline flight. Therefore it is absolutely your responsibility and good business ethics to provide me the connection flight ticket, which was refused. I never expected this treatment from a reputed air line like Ethiopian Airlines.

    1. Two days leave lost ( Approx. loss on account of 2 working days – $ 450 )
    2. Air ticket from Mumbai to Mangalore by Jet Airways. – Rs. 13600 ( $ 202 )
    3. Other all hardship faced, and could not attend an important function at my native place on 21.12.2016.

I was travelling from mumbai airport to johannesburg with ethiopian airlines on 4 january 2017, flight time 5.15am. When getting my boarding pass i specifically told the lady to put my family together. We were 4 adults and 3 kids (10yrs , 6years, and 2 year) but each one of us had a different seat. How were the kids going to sit alone. Few mins later another air hostess said kids cannot sit at the emergency exit side and they cant do anything if the kids must sit alone. It was a horrible experience. We were all exhausted and had to deal with the problem because they over booked 60 passengers. I was very unhappy with the service i have received from the ethiopian staff at mumbai airport. How could they think kids could sit on they own.

When i got in Nairobi i was told my luggage was left in Ethiopia and its on the way, its been 2 days now and i have only received confirmation of one luggage that has been found. Am on a very short vacation and this situation has just spoilt it big time. I really don’t need any apology for that what i just want is to have my 2 luggages!

For the second time, my flight from Jeddah/Saudi Arabia was delayed over 2 hours causing me to miss my connection. Flights to my final destination are only available once a day which means I will lose 24 hours in some hotel room in Addis Ababa instead of enjoying my vacation.
Ethiopian Airlines flights from Saudi Arabia are always delayed and causing inconveniences such as this one.
Passengers plan their trips months in advance and within a day, all our plans go down the drain. This is very irresponsible!!

This is worst Company in the world I have ever seen. I cannot advise someone to travel with this company. I travelled 3 day ago to Cameroon. I had 6 luggages, I paid for 4 of them for $225 each, when I arrived to Cameroon yesterday, I was missing all of my luggage, none of the 6 bags couldn’t be found. What a Nightmare! When I called there, I spoke to the worst person in my life I have never had to deal with. I think Ethiopian Airline has the worst customer service in the world. I would never advise someone to travel with this company.

I wanted to visit Brazil and Mexico for tourism and I have booked my tickets from New Delhi to Sao Paulo, Brazil with Ethiopian Airlines departure from IGI airport on 25th December 2016. After five days stay in Sao Paulo my next flight was for Mexico City on 31st December 2016. My return ticket was a separate ticket on 12th January 2017 . I have booked it separately because It was coming less costly than one round trip ticket. I have my valid multiple entry tourist visa for Brazil and Mexico. Both visas I have got after interviews and I already have given my reason to embassies to visit their countries.

I have reached on check in counter before time and I asked them to issue boarding pass. But Ethiopian airlines person on counter said they cannot issue boarding pass because you have a separate return ticket. I asked him that there is no rule of having a return ticket booked with your departure ticket. Then he said that these countries are not good where you visiting . I told him why I am visiting and about my interests. Then he said that they will email and ask Copa Airlines if they will give me boarding on December 31st 2016. I told them that you can call them directly and ask if you have queries. But they insisted on emailing Copa Airlines and told me to wait for their reply back. I have waited from 9.30 Am to 11.10 AM and they did not even tell me about anything. I knew that they are just doing time pass. Then they closed the check in counter and did not even bother to tell me anything. I went to the girl who was on check in counter and asked about reply from Copa Airlines. She said still they are waiting and she told me boarding is closed. I asked her to give a reason on paper why they denied boarding. But she said that they cannot give any reason.

I have worked hard and saved all money for trip. I have spent all my savings on air tickets around 2 Lakh Rupees and it is all gone now just because of they denied boarding without even any rule.

I am frustrated…This is my first time using this airline and I totally regret my action now. I arrived Lagos in the 24th of Dec for the journey I left on 21st from US. Now my luggage is missing. I am supposed to travel down to the East for the Christmas but I have missed the purpose of coming back in the first place. I was taken from Washington to Frankfurt to Jeddah to Ethiopia then Lagos. Where on earth is my Luggage? The worst is there is no contact/somebody reasonable to talk to.

I have to buy a plastic bag to carry my load and the experience was horrible. On getting to Newark, I again missed my flight to Indianapolis and and was told I can’t leave till noon the next day. when I contacted an Ethiopian air staff, he ask me to wait for him to meet his boss so that they can arrange accommodation for me. I waited all night and didn’t see the man again. i have to spend the. Ugh this in the open at the airport.

Wish I read this before I booked with Ethiopian Airlines! I booked with them trough an agent one month ago, and they keep changing my flight schedule. My schedule is not that flexible since I am an employee. I am thinking about refund my flight, but looking at the very very slow response (I am not sure it is the agent or the airlines), I don’t think the refund will go smoothly or even possible. Sigh. So frustrating!

Without a shred of exaggeration, it is both tiring and painful to recount and put into words our experience on Ethiopian Airlines this week.

We were a family of 8 (6 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) travelling from Jeddah to Durban.
Our original flight was ET403 from Jeddah to Addis Ababa – 04:10 departure time, scheduled to land in Addis Ababa at 06:55. We had 16 pieces of baggage (1 stroller + 15 pieces of baggage) checked in directly to Durban.

This flight (ET403) was delayed, for whatever reason, and took off approximately an hour after the scheduled time.

We landed in Addis Ababa at exactly 8:02 local time – this fact can be confirmed from your records – it was shown to us by another Ethiopian Airlines staff member in Addis Ababa later on (Hana).

Once we disembarked, we made the ground staff aware immediately that we had a connecting flight to catch and had 30 minutes to make it. The ground staff were curt, unhelpful, offered no explanation and made no attempt to speed the process up to get us onto the flight and simply told us to wait on the bus. This caused a further delay.

Once we entered the terminal, we were informed by the Ethiopian Airlines staff that we had missed the flight and to proceed to the ticketing counter. As it was still well before 0 8:30, we continuously asked if there was no way that we could be put onto the flight to Durban (ET845). The staff lied, saying that the flight had already departed. However the flight had only departed at 08:35 – this fact can be confirmed from your records – it was shown to us by another Ethiopian Airlines staff member in Addis Ababa later on (Hana).

We were offered to be put onto a flight to Durban on Tuesday 20/12/2016. We refused, and asked to be put on a flight to either Cape Town or Johannesburg as soon as possible and then a connecting flight to Durban.
We agreed that we would fly to Johannesburg on Monday 19/12/2016 (ET809) and that we would be put on an SAA flight from Johannesburg to Durban on the same afternoon.

After a wait of about 90 minutes, we received our hotel vouchers and boarding passes for Addis Ababa to Johannesburg. I asked for the boarding passes for the Johannesburg to Durban flight so that we could save time in Johannesburg and board quickly. We were told that this could not be done and we should just proceed to the check-in counter with our passports and SAA would have all the necessary information.
Again, this was a lie, as we later discovered other passengers who were put on the same flight were given their boarding passes for the Johannesburg to Durban flight.

I find the fact that we were blatantly lied to on two occasions to be completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Had the staff been upfront with us, or made any genuine attempt to help us or get us onto the flight, we would have been more understanding and accepting of the situation.

When we enquired about our luggage, we were told that we could either collect it immediately or leave it, and it would be sent through to Durban via Johannesburg when we flew. We opted to collect it immediately as we needed medication and clothes for the children.
When we handed our baggage tickets to the staff at the baggage counter we were told to wait between 45 minutes to an hour as it would take some time to locate. We agreed, as it was important to get the medication.
After 90 minutes we began enquiring where the luggage was – the staff were again extremely unhelpful, saying that they just did not know. We asked if the luggage was lost, whether it was still in Jeddah or whether it was gone to Durban – the response was always the same. No one seemed to know anything.
After a further 60 minutes, some of the luggage finally came through (with the exception of 2 bags and a stroller). We enquired again where the rest was – no one knew. At this point we were beyond frustrated.
After a further 15 minutes, we were informed that the 2 missing bags and stroller were put on the flight to Durban.
My question to the staff was how this was possible – we were told that the flight had taken off before we had got into the terminal, so how did the luggage make it onto the flight? Again, no one had an answer for us.

Surely if there was time for some of the baggage to be put on the flight to Durban, there would have been time to get us onto the flight? If the flight to Durban was delayed by another 10 or 15 minutes to accommodate us and get us onto the flight, how would it have affected any follow-on flights? Ethiopian Airlines could have easily held the flight as the connecting flight was the same carrier. This would have also been a cheaper option for Ethiopian Airlines instead of having to incur the costs of 4 hotel rooms and new flights. But it seemed as if no Ethiopian Airlines staff member was interested in helping us.

Is it possible for staff at the airport to be made aware, before the flight lands, that there will be passengers with connecting flights that need to be rushed to their next boarding gate or plane? This is a common practice in other major airports around the world. It only requires a bit of foresight and planning.

The only helpful member of the Ethiopian Airlines staff at the airport was Hana (unsure of surname).

At this point, we had spent a total of 5 and a half hours at the airport – from landing at 08:02 to 13:35 – with elderly members of the family and 2 children.
Once we exited the airport, we had to wait further for the shuttle to Debre Domo Hotel.

The state of the hotel, which I cannot understand how it can be a 4 star hotel, warrants a separate in depth essay.
In short, it was dirty, we found cockroaches in the rooms, the food was mediocre at best, and the staff was rude and unaccommodating. But what option did we have? We were tired, hungry, needed to use the bathroom and see to the children.

The next morning (Monday 19/12/2016) we proceeded to the airport and checked the baggage in (8 pieces of baggage as we had combined some boxes).
Here, I asked again for the Johannesburg to Durban boarding passes, but was given the same answer that it could not be done and I should just proceed to the SAA counter.
I asked if the baggage would be checked through to Durban or Johannesburg and was told not to wait for it in Johannesburg but to collect it in Durban once we had come off the SAA flight. This made sense and was acceptable.

Once we landed in Johannesburg (ET809), we were surprised to see that some of our baggage was on the carousel. We were genuinely shocked, as I had been told clearly that it would not come out in Johannesburg, but in Durban.

However, we collected whatever of ours was there but one bag was missing. I proceeded to the Ethiopian Airlines baggage counter and was told that the missing piece was sent directly to Durban, according to the computer system.
How was it possible that some of the luggage would come out in Johannesburg and the other piece could go directly to Durban? This makes no sense. Wouldn’t the bag have to go through security checks and customs too?

I enquired about the other 2 pieces of missing baggage and the stroller (from Sunday’s flight) and was told this too was in Durban already.
So, at this point, a total of 4 pieces of baggage had gone missing, but were all supposed to be in Durban.

We then proceeded to the SAA counter to check in for the Johannesburg to Durban Flight.
Imagine our anger and frustration when we were told by the SAA staff that they had no record of any of us being booked onto the flight. We were told by them to go to the Ethiopian Airlines offices in the International Departures Terminal.

At the Ethiopian Airlines offices in Johannesburg, we were told that we definitely were booked onto the SAA flight, and it was the SAA staff that had made a mistake. At this point, it did not really matter whose mistake it was and, quite frankly, we did not care. All that mattered was that we got home as soon as possible.

This all could have been avoided if we had received our boarding passes for the Johannesburg to Durban flight in Addis Ababa, like the other passengers.

We had to wait for new tickets to be booked for us and were eventually put onto a BA flight at 18:00 (BA 622V1).

By the time we had reached Durban at 19:00 on Monday evening, we had been travelling for 48 hours.

At Durban Airport, the Bidair baggage services were already closed when we had landed. I contacted them on Tuesday 20/12/16 and managed to locate the 2 bags and stroller that had been sent directly from Jeddah. The other piece of luggage is still missing – it cannot be located in Addis Ababa, Johannesburg or Durban.

I feel that, due to the length of the complaint, it is necessary to summarize:
    • It is definitely possible that we could have been put onto the Addis Ababa to Durban flight in the 30 minutes we had between us landing and it taking off, especially since some of our baggage made it onto the flight.
    • No one made any genuine attempt to get us onto the flight – we were blatantly lied to about the flight having departed already.
    • Staff were unhelpful, vague, dismissive and indifferent toward us all along.
    • The hotel provided was far below acceptable.
    • The error with the SAA flight from Johannesburg to Durban could have been avoided had we received boarding passes in Addis Ababa – we were lied to again here.
    • Baggage is still missing and cannot be located.
    • Besides the overall inconvenience, we also lost 2 days of work (and income) due to the entire delay.

I strongly feel that I would never use Ethiopian Airlines ever again, nor would I recommend it to anyone I know. In honesty, I would actively discourage others from using Ethiopian Airlines.

I am not unreasonable; I understand and accept that delays do happen. However, it was the attitude of the staff, lies and unwillingness to help that made the experience extremely unpleasant. This, coupled with the loss of the baggage and further delay in Johannesburg, made me make up my mind to never use Ethiopian Airlines.

I have been a frequent flyer with ET. I travelled from Lusaka, Zambia with ET via Addis on the 14th of December 2016. When I arrived in Toronto, one of my two bags was missing and I had to continue with my journey without it, after reporting the loss to the Ethiopian desk. Upon my arrival in Ottawa I started making the necessary calls to all the contact numbers that I was given and only got either voicemail or people telling me that they’ll get back to me. It has been 6 days now and have not even had a single call back, or email with info about my lost baggage. This is very annoying, and mostly disappointing, particularly as these employees of ET have a very bad attitiude of just ignoring a customer’s query about the loss of their personal belongings. They just don’t care!! Unbelievalble!! They have absolutely no clue about how to locate their customers baggage or lost items. All I can say that it is a matter of time that this Airline, which had become so popular, will begin to lose all its customers and will eventually close its operation. They have become so carless and too laid back due to their numerous aircrafts flying all over the world, but this will soon end if they carry on with their disgusting treatment of their customers. What a shame!..ET Authorities, please TEACH your staff how to handle situations like this, or send them back to school, workshops, or whatever! They are absolutely USELESS and will be the cause of your Airline to shut down.

I flew with this airlines on 17th Dec from Brussels to Bujumbura. I purchased extra luggage to carry a television and the lady I talked to told me to put it with fragile goods. What I did. Arrived home, my television was broken. I then ran to the ethiopian office in town as soon as I saw the damage. I wrote a complain letter and left it to the responsible person. I got told that as soon as I leave the airport, Ethiopian cannot be responsible of the goods. How was I supposed to notice that the television was broken at the airport ? Open it already there? I still can’t understand how careless they can be for people belongings and how they don’t want to take their responsibilities.
I still hope to get a decent answer from the company at this moment. The manager is supposed to arrive end of this week.
It was the first time I flew with Ethiopian Airlines and at this time since think it will be the last. Disappointment.

I have booked the ticket for Blantyre to Mumbai travel date is 16/12/2016, BOOKING REF : AMADEUS: 7XDDPW, AIRLINE: ET/YLYJPL
Mumbai to Hyd:TYPI3J. BOOKING REF : AMADEUS: 7XDDPW, AIRLINE: AI/H1MEF

Today the flight was OVERBOOKED and they haven’t issued my Boarding Pass. I have a connecting flight from Mumbai to HYD, due to your overbooking i missed my connecting journey and need to book new ticket to HYD. Also there is no proper communication, they request me to wait for next flight at 23:35 and finally they say simple “SORRY” but this is not the way to communicate to the passenger. Finally after struggling 3 hours at Airport they issued the ticket for 17/12/2016. The main concern is the way of communication which is not crystal clear.

My wife and I [RQVEFI] and our grand daughter [QSDQQF] missed our flight from Lagos to Paris on Friday 9 December 2016. When it became apparent we could not make the trip I called the sales office at Victoria Island to alert them to the fact that morning. We are now requesting a new date but surprisingly we are asked to pay an additional USD 370.00 each. We vehemently disagree to this which appears like a plain-faced daylight robbery.

The worst airline in the world. RIGHT FROM THE TIME I CHECKED IN TO THE BOLE AIRPORT I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.. I HAD BOOKED THE TICKET BY PAYING FULL AMOUNT before two weeks and also had reserved the seat online for which I have itenary… as soon as I met the airline staff I am told flight is full and I need to go tomorrow…when I asked what happened to my confirmed seat …Representatives asked, would you like to travel to Delhi instead of Mumbai. ..(god alone knows how these people get employed….) anyways after lot of argument I got boarding pass with stand by status..Once I got boarding pass it was the worst seat…best seat chosen by me was given to someone else .. again after coming to India baggage has gone missing….you complain, do whatever you want …This airline is not even bothered about your luggage…. As soon as you complain you hear first two letters “no problem”…and later nothing happens …your baggage and your valuables may be still wandering in Ethiopia…unhappy with the airline and the staff.

My Ticket Number : 0717908917036. The ET representative i spoke with was rude did not know the procedures. She even hung up on me. I later called and spoke to Emias – location : ADD, asked to help for re-issuance of the ticket. He deleted the flight by mistake & even saved it. He corrects his mistake but could not give me the same flight. Poor customer service. Agents do not know what to do in their shifts. Need training.

I have a flight from Delhi to Addis Ababa today at 3:30 AM Flight no ET 687, but due to a fog it is delayed and right now I am in a airport for last 9 hours and still waiting for my flight to departure , the ground staff is not very helpful , as I need to travel to Chile which is 32 hours journey . I told them that I have a fever and please arrange a doctor and a lounge so that I can take a rest, but nobody listens.

I also had the worst experience of my life on our recent trip back from Cape Town connecting in Addis Ababa. While waiting for our connection I heard a very muffled announcement about our flight, all I could make out was the flight number, so I go over to the security gate and ask the lady (who refuses to let you through security until it’s an hour ahead of you flight) and ask her what did they just say about my flight. To which she responds it’s been delayed still 1pm (this was 8.00am). In disbelief I ask if she’s sure and requote our flight number. To which she responds “Yes, please go sit down and wait for further announcements”.

I then go to the sign boards to see if there is any other info and nothing has been posted so what can I do but wait cos the woman won’t let us through security at this stage. 9am we decide to go up to security again and recheck (cos there’s a new lady there now) and this one says your flight has just left!! Can you believe it?!?! We’re freaking out, how can you have told us to go sit down when it was actually boarding. Of course the same security lady denies having said that to which I challenge and say pull up the security footage you will see her gesturing to me to go sit down. The airline doesn’t care a stich, their only response is it’s your fault you missed your flight. Can you believe this!?! While complaining and trying to argue another 5 other people come along with similar stories! All given the wrong information and missed their flight cos of it. And they still want to argue it’s the passengers fault!! How can you have a freak chance that 6 people that don’t know each other from a bar of soap have the same misfortunate accident? Come on Ethiopian Airlines!

Anyway, the only way we’re going to get back to London is if we stop arguing and book ourselves on the next flight which they quote will be another $300 for the both of us and a 20 hour wait in the world’s crappiest airport! We also realise they are so hopeless they will probably lose our luggage (cos is was supposed to go through on the flight we missed), so we try asking customer services to work out where the bags are currently and what we need to do no make sure we get them, that was another waist of 2 hours of our lives cos of course the bags were missing when we got back to London. The cherry on the cake was checking my bank statement to see they actually charged us £300 (pounds!) not USD as we were quoted at the airport! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I purchased an economy class ticket from Rome Italy to Lusaka Zambia and I was told by my travel agent via the agent at Ethiopian Airlines that she spoke to on the phone, that the ticket could be upgraded with Star Alliance miles. I purchased 120 euros of additional miles in order to upgrade. I was not able to process the upgrade online but I was told I would be able to do it at the airport. At the airport, the flight supervisor told me that my class of ticket was not upgradeable. I wasted 120 euros because the agent gave my travel agent the wrong information.

On the Saturday 19th November 2016 i was booked to fly back to London Heathrow at 0200.
There was a 5 hour delay at Addis airport without an explanation or compensation, no food or drink.

I know the rules are that after a 3 hour delay you are entitled to compensation. I travelled with ethiopian for the past five years but now i will not be doing so. The toilet facilities in Addis Ababa airport is very poor for an international Airport and needs upgrading if you want to compete on the world stage.

I’m a frequent flyer on Ethiopian airlines since 2004 until today. Something bad happened to me on 14th November. I was travelling to Hong Kong and was carrying with me $38000. I was going through business but this amount I separated it, one bunch was on twenty $20,000 and the other one was on $18,000. When I reached Hong Kong airport I didn’t check if my money was OK. I only discover when I reached to my hotel $18,000 was missing and I never made any judgement but I thought maybe I have forgotten that money at home. I decided to change my ticket date so that I go back home quickly to check if I have left the money at home. On friday 18th i went home I found there was no money. And I told one of my friend who is a frequent flyer about what happened to me and he told me that this has been common on Ethiopian airlines people have been losing there money so I’m not the first one. And the suspects are people from Tanzania who are doing this, they wait for people to sleep then they start searching people’s bags, some say they have got a special perfume which puts one to sleep. I feel so bad, I have been working hard for this kind of money. I have a lot to say about this and I’m looking forward to talk to someone from Ethiopian airlines.

I flew from Lusaka on 18th November 2016 flight ET 873. Arrived in Addis in time about 20.30hrs. Our flight from Addis to Heathrow was scheduled for 01.30hrs. Just before 23.00hrs we saw the display stating that our flight was delayed and estimated time was now 04.00hrs. Later on I and some other passengers asked one of the staff why there was such a long delay, we were told it was to do with luggage. Then later on another passenger asked the same question, he was told it was due to bad weather, then another passenger asked later on, she was told it was due to a technical problem on the plane. As we had already gone through security we were unable to even get a drink, kids cried saying they were thirsty but nothing happened. Around 03.00hrs it was announced that we were to proceed to start boarding, suddenly I saw people running like a stampede towards the boarding area. People were out of control. I joined the others but were told to wait for 20 minutes. 04.30hrs passengers got so fed up and they want to know what was going on. At this point all staff had disappeared and no body to update us with what was happening. We were all very uncomfortable sitting in those metal seats, frustrated because we had nobody to ask because staff had disappeared. At that point I knew I was going to miss my 11.00hrs coach to Birmingham and I had only £10.00 on me which was not even enough for a new ticket, at 05.00hrs I saw a staff member who I stopped and asked what was happening and explain that I was going to miss my coach, he said Heathrow have already been informed, I reminded him that the coach will not wait for us. at 05.30 we started to board the flight.

We didn’t leave Addis until 06.00hrs. They apologized for the delay as we were boarding which I feel was not good enough and too late. They should have told us the truth and updated us throughout the wait. Following the apology, passengers shouted angrily saying the apology was too late. We arrived at Heathrow just after 10.00hrs British time. By the time I went through immigration and to collect my luggage it was 11.30 and I had missed the coach. I finally got to Birmingham at 16.10hrs which is not acceptable. You caused a lot of stress to so many passengers who really lost hope and trust in the airline. This was my first time to fly with Ethiopian airlines because a friend recommended them to me as I fly twice a year to Zambia, but my experience has been so painful that I regret flying with this airline. Some people were even saying this is an ongoing problem. Something must be done and improvements to communication as well will help. I really would like to hear from you lot with regards to this matter as soon as you can. To confirm what I am saying you are welcome to contact all passengers who were on fight ET 700 and I am sure they will be able to confirm what I am saying, At one point I asked for head phones to watch a film. I never got any until and hour before landing to Heathrow when I asked another lady for them. Extremely poor service.

I have an injuries complaint – injuries suffered and sustained at Ethiopian Airlines by elderly persons (who are also diabetic).

No where on Ethiopian Airlines website does it have information or processes to follow when one is injured . Ive been searching for hours. Nothing. How can this be that an international carrier does not have channels or departments clearly marked for handling complaints of injuries sustained due to the negligence of the airlines and its ground staff.

I am writing to you because I feel I have not had my issues adequately addressed by my local Ethiopian Airlines here in Gaborone, Botswana. Being based in Gaborone and working in Muscat, Oman, My wife, son and I, were very pleased to hear about the service from Addis Ababa to Gaborone, as this would considerably reduce journey time between home and work. My wife and I would have become regular travellers on this route, at least two return journeys per year and my Son would have made at least one. To be frank, the quality of the journey, leg room, food and in-service entertainment is not the best, but this is made up for with a considerable reduction in time and a generous baggage allowance, though the cost of the journey is not really any less expensive than other competitors. However, overall, we would rather support a developing African airline.

I have written this to express my disappointment in my return journey to Muscat (Thursday 18th August) being re-routed and I had to take an extra journey to Johannesburg first. An airport that has disappointed me on a number of occasions due to misplaced baggage, that has also been tampered with. Basically, all the reasons why I chose to fly with Ethiopian Airlines are now deemed irrelevant. I should have gone with Emirates as prices and more importantly journey times are now similar. I may add that in March, while travelling from Muscat to Zanzibar the times was changed one week before. Not by much, so I didn’t complain. However, in my two trips with this airline my plans have been disrupted on both occasions, this second time being more significant. I now don’t trust the airline, so why should I trust the airline with my family’s time in future?

Now I come to the annoying part of this experience and the reason why I am contacting you. My local Ethiopian Airlines office emailed this information on Monday 8th August. There was no apology or explanation. My queries regarding compensation and baggage were not fully answered. An apology was only offered when I queried its absence. And indeed even my query as to when the office closes, so I could ask face to face, was left unanswered. I have included the email stream below so you may make up your own mind regarding the service offered.

I was told at the Gaborone office that the manager would contact me to explain, they agreed that I had been inconvenienced and they would look into the matter. I never did get any reply from the manager even after I phoned them on at least three other occasions. When I arrived to take my flight to Johannesburg there was no one representing your airline at the airport as had previously been promised to me.

So I short my journey time was extended by over 6 hours, and extra time and expense was incurred in Johannesburg.
So what do I want? Mostly I want some answers, so in future I can make an informed decision as to which route I should take. I want to weigh up pros and cons when choosing an airline and Ethiopian Airline do not appear to be delivering on the pros, leaving only the cons. I understand that there will be reasons, probably economic, why my flight was re-routed and there is not much that can be done about this. But, why should my family and I, travel with you again? Why should I recommend this airline to anyone else in future? You just don’t deliver on services promised, you don’t explain why and you don’t at least compensate your passengers.

I do not mean this as an attack on anyone personally, though the Gaborone branch maybe could do with a little extra training on service issues, but unless I am assured that this airline will stick to promised plans and routes, and some sort of compensation is offered, I will not use you again and will go out of my way using social media to alert people to the services I have experienced.

I had flight going back from Malawi Lilongwe to Dubai flight number 877. Without any excuse or intimation they cancelled my seat and they didn’t care I had a job after 6 hours from Dubai to Amman Jordan. I had big difficulty calling my agent to change my flight or to discuss with my company to postpone Jordan trip. I cant understand how the airline cancelled seat for transit traveler. They gave me a 200$ voucher. It is not acceptable. I lost a major deal because of me missing on the trip. I dint even use the hotel they offered. I feel cheated and will now ask my full refund back.

    I booked for a flight through my travel agent HRG on 27th June 2016 and got the attached e-ticket number E-ticket ET 071-2275107102. Due to some urgent business needs I requested for a flight rescheduling as per attachment number. Later on I realised that the travel time was not convenient and requested for another rescheduling; all emails attached (the flight was for early morning on 22nd whereas I required a late evening on the same day i.e. 22nd July from Cairo to ADDIS). The booking was rescheduled and a penalty was charged for the rescheduling as well as a fare difference for the same as per below;

New change attracts a penalty of USD 165.00 + fare difference of USD 132.00 TOTAL:USD 297.00

My problem is that when I tried to check in on 23nd June early morning to catch the flight ET 453, I was involuntary denied booking due to overbooking as the flight was full. I had business commitments in Addis on 23rd which had to be cancelled leading to loss of business. The big question which no one has cared to answer is:- should I be charged the penalty and the fare difference of USD 297 when in actual sense there was no tangible service as the flight I finally boarded reverted back to the initial booking dates (the first ticket issued on the 27th June) I was trying to avoid!!! Is Ethiopian airlines offering a service and a commitment or are they selling paperwork transactions? Besides this I raised an issue about the manner in which I was treated at Cairo airport where I was put in a taxi with a driver who did not know the route to J.W. Marriott hotel; We got lost in the maze of the webs of the highways and he kept on talking over the phone in a foreign language. Sometimes he could stop in the middle of the highway to ask for directions from fellow drivers. I had to pay my hotel accommodation in Cairo J.W. Marriott hotel.

Furthermore and the most disheartening thing about the whole saga is that after numerous emails to Ethiopian Airlines, there has been no conclusive redress of this matter. The last communication from Mr. Worku was on Saturday and he promised to call back on Monday (8th august) so that he can capture all the details, I’m still waiting for his call and the phone contact given goes unanswered. I have spent so much time drafting emails and sending information over and over again, I’m tired of this fiasco.

Perhaps, it is Ethiopian airlines strategy to ignore issues raised until they go away somehow.. and disgruntled customers forget their ordeals.

Me and my wife flew from Addis to Mekelle to celebrate our cultural holiday called Ashenda on August 21/2016. But on our way back to Addis on flight number 109 on August 23/2016 by Captain Merawi and First officer Mikias, a flight cabin crew called Kalkidan asked my wife whether if she is pregnant or not & my wife told her that she is pregnant & explained to the cabin crew that her pregnancy has just already entered 24 weeks.

My wife got upset because, first the plane was supposed to take off at 19:50 but it took off around 21:30 and Kalkidan the cabin crew, mistreated her for no reason but for only being pregnant, anyways we just get our seat and Kalkidan the cabin crew come back to our seat and again started to begin conversation regarding pregnancy situation (personally for me as a husband Kalkidan was abusing us) in the mean time I found the most disgusting thing in our seat pocket, it was vomit. I told Kalkidan that it’s better if she can clean it. Thanks to the second cabin crew called Yordanos, she did her job well and removed the stains and smell.

Me and my wife know our rights and responsibilities most of the time and we know “No medical certificate or letter is required up to the end of the 27th week” and “When the pregnancy has entered the 28th week, a medical certificate or letter, issued by a qualified doctor or midwife…….’’. We have contacted the station manager before boarding regarding my wife’s situation while we were issued with our boarding pass, thanks to the staff member at MQX airport they did understand and even the passengers did not allow us even to hold a line before boarding. Ethiopian airlines should learn to train their staff.

I checked in my luggage today at flight MQX ET 104 at about 1:30pm. When I reached home to my shock I found out my baggage was opened and a black iPhone stolen.
Baggage number is 6071 ET761642. Really sad this happened. I hope my case would be strongly investigated.

July 08, 2016Flight from Washington DC through Ethiopian. Customer service has no clue on how to deal with fliers. The staff refuses to assist my ailing mom who travels every six months back and forth. It was United Airlines that finally helped her get information and printed her ticket. Wont fly this airline aain.

My wife and I flew ethiopian airline on 4th august to attend our daughter’s wedding in Canada. We got to Canada on the 6th of August only to discover one of the luggage which had clothings and items we intended to use for the wedding was missing. We were told the baggage did not come with others because of a conveyor belt issue and that it will be coming in to Canada the next day. However, the bag didn’t come until after four days. By this time, we had spent a lot of money buying suits for the wedding and other necessary clothings and accessories, which had eaten deep into our budget for this trip. Right now, we are having financial challenges because of all these unplanned expenditures.

I flew on the 18/19th July from NY to Addis and Addis to JOHANNESBURG there were delays and I missed my connecting flight to JOHANNESBURG. I was then rerouted to DURBAN and my luggage never reached me for 8 days! the ground staff failed to communicate and I was never compensated for lost time and money calling and presenting myself at the airport to shout and query why my luggage was missing with no trace.
The ground manager in Durban’s baggage claim department was absolutely useless in investigating and offered no help for the 3 days. She went missing on one of the days and would not answer the mobile number she told me to call her on.
I missed out on meetings and lived on the clothes I came with for 8 days!
I only received my bags a few hours ago tonight after once again presenting myself and demanding answers. Only to find that the bag was never rerouted to DURBAN and had been lying in JOHANNESBURG for 8 days with nobody tracing or claiming it even though I was calling and physically demanding answers at the airport.
This has been the worst service ever! I would never ever recommend anyone to fly Ethiopian. It is emotionally draining and financially consuming.

What type of an airline is this that keeps losing passengers’ baggage. They don’t respond to baggage queries. Its employees keep ambushing value bags. Guess that is why most valuable baggages gets lost. I hate the service.

For flight ADD to JNB night 4 July, Ethiopian Airlines failed to put my bag on the flight or on subsequent flights. This despite the fact that I personally
observed the bag being tagged. Disgraceful. It has been a week and no one at this airline offers assistance of any kind. Their only response when reached by phone is to put me on hold and then after a several minutes, they hang up.

We lost our 9 bags during journey today from Rio de Janeiro via Sao Paulo to Mumbai India. All the bags were checked in directly to be collected in Mumbai airport. We have in our bags – guitar, all branded clothes, and much more. We are very disappointed with services.

We flew from LAX to Dublin on July 1st. One of our bags didn’t make it to Dublin. We are now stranded in Dublin for 3 days waiting for the bag to show up. Still nothing. No help, no calls returned, numbers in Dublin, DC and Los Angeles still not answered. No emails returned. NOTHING. Its clear to us that its our problem the baggage was lost and our problem to find the baggage even though nobody will talk to us about it. We are at the end of our patience. I am speechless at your lack of care and total negligence in your business matters. You have lost 2 customers FOREVER.

I flew from Jeddah today with 3 hours delay. I lost connection to Harare and Harare to Windhoek. You gave me a ticket to Harare. But you did not compensate any flight from Harare to Windhoek. It is your responsibility to compensate also from Harare to Windhoek.
