  1. My CRN is 37406345. My account was opened with Kotak Bank in April 2011 when i had joined KPMG, at which time i was told that the minimum balance is Rs. 10,000.
I quit KPMG in September 2011. The account has apparently turned inactive. I called my relationship manager, Ms. Nirali Dalal, for help as i wanted to keep this account active.

She told me that i had to maintain a balance of Rs 50,000 to keep the account active. I obviously got furious and told her that i was not aware about such balance maintenance and i do not wish to pay any amount extra to close the bank account. Then she told me that if i do not close the bank account, more amount would be debited to my account and it would affect my CIBIL rating. So it was up to me whether to maintain or close the account by paying the account maintenance charges, and she rudely hung up on me saying that these are not my rules, these are the bank rules. I had to call her up again to get help on how to close my account. She did not answer my call. Some other gentleman answered the phone this time and explained me that the CIBIL rating would not be affected. Anyways, this has been the worst banking experience ever. i never wanted to bank with Kotak bank but they literally begged us to open a salary account at KPMG which we obliged.

It may doesn’t matter to you but i will thank myself for not banking with you. Now even if you do not want to get those maintenance charges, i will pay Good ridden charges. I have been a priority customer of AXIS BANK for over 6 years now. You should learn to respect the customer from them. The people at Axis know their manners and they would go to any limit to help their customers, very unlikely Ms. Nirali Dalal.

I will make sure that none of my employees ever bank with this cheater bank.

I shall as soon as possible go to my nearest Kotak bank and close my account (for good). It is such a pain to visit the Kotak Bank because there is no parking space available ever.

I have already lost approx. Rs 900, which Kotak has already debited to my account. I will have to pay the good ridden charges, around Rs 1500 to close the account. I had given this account number for my income tax refund. I am pretty sure of not getting that now. But if this is what i have to pay to end my relationship with this not so courteous bank, i shall do it with lots of pleasure.

    With lots of ill feelings,
    Good bye Kotak bank,
    Good bye forever

  2. Mr. Anup is 100 % correct. I lost all my faith. Worst bank.

  3. This is the worst bank & Security company for services I have come across in my life in India. Even some of Nationalized Banks give you far superior services than this Bank . It could be a culture of company where they give all tall promises to attract a customer and once you in trap they do not provide the services or listen to your complaints.Right form Senior Managers to junior staff are only sweet talkers never help you at all. I struggled to even close or convert my NRO account to SB account almost for last 4 years. I contacted Mumbai Nariman Point Branch to Noida , Banglore NRI Regional Manager to Mangalore Branch. Most disappointing Delhi Kotak Security staff, Pitampura some of them are Geeta Chauhan, Anand Jain, Saurabh etc Mumbai , Anand Kapre & Anshu Chopra – Nariman Point Branch, Mangalore Branch Manoj Nair, Branch Manager Sheebu M K, Sales Manager, Bangalore – Misba Regional NRI Relationship Manger. Only one person I can appreciate who tried to help was Nikhil Dongra but due to non co-operation others as mentioned nothing could move. Now the name Kotak irritates me.

    1. Anup is perfectly correct. First they lure the customer and then they keep debiting with all sorts of charges. I had a very bad experience with Kotak credit cards and now even the savings bank account.
